The Home Run

Chapter 21

After about half an hour of driving Alex pulled up to the house we bought a couple days ago. "What are we doing here?" I asked "what do you mean? We live here" he replied "what do you mean?" I asked and he smiled and got out of the car "come on" he said as he opened my door and took my hand . I took his hand and followed after him as we walked towards the house. He reached into his pocket and grabbed some keys and unlocked the door and pushed it open "welcome home" he smiled as he walked in. I looked around and noticed all of our furniture was here "how did this get here?" I asked as I walked through the house checking the rooms "while we were away I asked a few guys for a favor and voila" he said as he motioned to the stuff in the family room. "All we have to do is set it up like we want it and we're good to go" he smiled "but what about your place?" I asked "I'll turn the keys in whenever we have everything out" he replied and walked upstairs. I walked into the kitchen and saw boxes so I started to unpack them and organize everything.

After a few hours of unpacking I had the kitchen, dining room, family room, and study organized. It was fairly easy since all of the furniture was already in the rooms, all I had to do was put the decor out and put the rest of the items where they belong. I took one last glance around the mostly finished bottom floor and walked over to the couch and sat down. This it it. Our new home. I smiled at the thought just as Alex walked down the stairs and sat on the table in front of the couch. He grabbed my feet and put them on his lap and started massaging them one at a time. "That feels amazing" I sighed which caused him to smile "are you hungry?" He asked and I nodded in reply "do you want pizza?" He asked "sure" I replied and leaned forward and gave him a quick kiss before I walked upstairs to see what Alex did.

The master bedroom looked beautiful. His bed was positioned in the middle of the room with grey sheets and my pink fluffy throw blanket on top. His dresser was against the wall with a new dresser that looks identical to the other one. I walked into the closet and saw most of the clothes were hung up, all of my shoes were organized by style and he had one corner dedicated to all of his baseball gear. I walked into the bathroom and glanced around before moving onto one of the guest rooms. The one closest to our room was full of boxes but when I looked closer I noticed it was baby stuff. I smiled when I realized Alex had already bought some toys for our baby. I made my way to the next guest room and saw it was set up with my old room furniture for now, and a few canvases were in the corner. I walked over to them and noticed they were Alex's paintings he gave me while we were in college. I smiled as I carried them back into our bedroom and sat them on the floor where I wanted to hang them up. Then I walked back downstairs just as Alex walked back inside with pizza boxes. "After we eat will you hang up the pictures you gave me for Christmas?" I asked "oh you found those too?" He smirked "why were they in the guest room?" I asked "because I was waiting to add to the collection" he said nonchalantly as he grabbed a slice of pizza and started eating it "what do you mean add to it?" I asked as I walked around him and grabbed plates for us "I'm working on another one for you. I was going to make it a surprise but that's not happening I guess" he laughed and sat the pizza on top of the box and not his plate. I wanted to get onto him but I was too focused on what he just said. "You're painting?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around his waist "well I haven't technically started painting yet but I'm in the process" he replied and I missed his back. "Can I see?" I asked "mmm maybe later, you have to eat first so our little one is happy" he chuckled and put some food on my plate.

After we ate dinner we lounged around on the couch for a while watching Netflix on my laptop since the cable isn't set up yet. I didn't notice I was falling asleep until Alex moved to put the laptop down. "Come on baby lets go to bed" he whispered as he picked me up. I snuggled closer to his chest and hummed in content as he carried me up the stairs and into our new bedroom. He laid me on the bed, took his shirt off and got in next to me. I moved so that I was laying on his chest as he rubbed my back until I fell asleep.
