The next week went by really fast. I talked to alex every day. We would text every morning before I left for work and we would facetime once i got home. I asked for the two days off in order to go to Washington and they gave them to me, but i had to agree to work the weekend to make up the time.
Today I'm leaving for Washington. I triple checked my suitcase to make sure i had everything i needed. Once I made sure i wasn't missing anything i walked outside and got in my car. I drove to the airport and paid for parking and then walked in. I grabbed my ticket to make sure i was in the right place. I walked towards the terminal and went through security and had some free time. I pulled out my phone and texted alex.
Me: i don't know if you are awake yet but I just wanted to let you know im about to leave.
After a few minutes i decided to text Brooklyn
Me: just reminding you my flight lands at 11.
Brooklyn: i know. Im literally tracking your flight to be prepared
Me: what do you see? An airplane going absolutely nowhere?
Brooklyn: pretty much, but it won't be like that for much longer
Me: they just announced my flight is boarding so I have to go. See you in a few hours
Brooklyn: I'm so excited!I smiled as I put my phone away and started walking towards my flight. I handed the ticket to the flight attendant who checked it and told me where my seat was. I thanked her and made my way onto the plane. Once I found my seat I got as comfortable as I could and got ready for the flight.
After a few hours of watching Disney movies the flight attendant came on the intercom and announced we were about to land. I put on my seatbelt and got ready to finally see Washington DC.
Once the plane landed I made my way to the luggage claim, grabbed my bag and called Brooklyn. "Hey where are you?" She asked "I'm at the baggage claim, where are you?" I asked "were at the - oh I see you" She said and I turned around until I saw her waving her hand in the air. I smiled and walked over to her. She immediately pulled me into a tight hug "I've missed you so much" she squealed "I've missed you too" I replied as we pulled away. "It's nice to see you again" jack said from behind me. I smiled and pulled him into a hug "Hey" I greeted. "What about me?" Alex asked. I smiled and looked at him to see he was smiling at me too. I walked over to him and he pulled me into a tight hug. I felt his muscles flex around me and I smiled into his chest. "'Did you miss me?" He asked smiling "sure" I said sarcastically and he laughed. Jack decided to take my bags to the car so Brooklyn left with him leaving Alex and me behind them slightly. "im glad you're here" he told me "I'm glad too" i smiled and walked to jacks car. Brooklyn and Jack sat in the front while me and alex sat in the back. During the ride Alex grabbed my hand and started rubbing his thumb across my knuckles. I grabbed his hand and intertwined our fingers. He smiled and kept running his thumb on my hand.
Eventually the car came to a stop outside of apartments. Eveeyone got out so i followed them. We walked in and towards the elevator. Alex pushed the button for the fourth floor and once we arrived we started walking down the long hallway. We stopped in front of a door and alex unlocked it and walked in. "welcome home" he smirked as he walked into the kitchen. I noticed a couple things from when we were on facetime. I walked around and noticed it was only one room. "ill sleep on the couch" alex told me softly as Brooklyn and jack started a conversation "you don't have to. Were both adults and im sure we can handle sleeping in the same bed" i told him "if that's what you want" he replied and Brooklyn walked over "so love birds. We have to leave but were going to dinner tonight right?" she asked and alex nodded. Jack glanced between me and alex before he smiled and left.
I walked around looking at everything. I walked into his room and saw the pictures of us and the baby. I picked that one up and looked at it. "i don't think the pain ever stops" i told alex. He walked over to me and wrapped his hands around my waist "it doesn't, it just gets bearable with time" he replied "is it bearable for you yet?" I asked and turned around to look at him "I started a fight last week. So I don't think so" he told me. "How are you?" I asked and looked down "I'm good. Do you want to make sure?" He asked and I glanced back up at him "I'll show you if you want" he told me and lifted his shirt. I looked down and saw his toned body being revealed. He quickly pulled off his shirt and lifted his arm so I could see his side. I ran my fingers around the bruises and noticed that it was healing perfectly "it looks good" I told him "its disgusting" he laughed "yea well, its healing nice. The bruises will be gone soon" i told him. "i think you should be my personal doctor" he smirked "why?" i asked "because you're beautiful and amazing and I love you" he smiled and pulled me into a soft kiss.
