The next month went by extremely fast and I officially have a baby bump. It's not big so I've been hiding it with larger shirts while around Brooklyn or at work but while I'm home I resort to yoga pants and a sports bra or Alex's shirt.
We've finished setting the house up and we decided to invite some friends over for a small house warming party, so we can show off the house but also tell everyone we're expecting. I decided not to wear my engagement ring so tonight would just be about the house and our baby. I'm terrified but also very excited since we've been keeping it a secret from everyone except our families for the last 4 months.
The doctor has given both me and the baby a clean bill of health which was a big relief Alex and I needed to hear since we've been worried sick about the pregnancy. Now we're even more excited to let everyone know we're expecting a very healthy baby.
"Stazie they'll be here soon" Alex yelled from downstairs. He's been busy grilling burgers for the last 30 minutes while I decided which swim suit I wanted to wear. "Yellow, pink or blue?" I asked for the millionth time. "baby you going to look perfect in whichever color you wear I promise" he reassured "that doesn't help" I groaned down at him from the balcony before I walked back inside. After a few more minutes I decided on the light baby blue two piece swim suit. As I was getting ready I heard someone knock on the door and Alex walking through the house to see who it was.
As I made my way downstairs after throwing on a black mesh cover up i heard the chatter of everyone. The first person who noticed me was Alex, I noticed he was shirtless with navy blue swim trunks on. He made his way over to me and smiled "and the beautiful queen has arrived" he quietly said before he pulled me into a kiss. I rested my hand on his chest and realized how warm he was. "Make sure you're drinking water while you're slaving away over the grill" I murmured before I kissed him again. He smiled into the kiss before pulling away "yes ma'am" he replied as he secretly grabbed my butt before walking to the kitchen and getting both of us water. He made his way back over and handed me my cup before going back outside towards the grill. "There you are I was wondering when you'd join the party" Brooklyn pretty much yelled as she ran over to me. "Hey" I laughed as she pulled me into a hug "the girls are about to go swimming do you want to join?" She asked and I nodded.
We walked out into the backyard and I took off my cover up just as Brooklyn turned to look at me. She gasped and motioned towards my small bump "is that what I think it is? Or did you just gain weight?" She asked and I looked over to Alex who was already watching me "well I guess we should tell everyone" I laughed and walked the short distance to Alex. He stood behind me and rested a hand on my stomach "surprise I'm pregnant" I smiled as Brooklyn squealed and pulled us both into a hug "this is amazing congratulations" she smiled as she made room for jack to give us each a hug. The next few minutes consisted of everyone came over to congratulate us and make jokes about who would be the godparents.
For the next few hours we all ate, swam and the guys decided to play catch with an Apple of all things. Around 10 o'clock we decided to call it a night and everyone made their way out, and some even left housewarming gifts.
I grabbed the bags that I could and sat on the couch so I could see what we got. Brooklyn and jack got us mr. and mrs. Pajama sets which I laughed at. I told Brooklyn about the engagements few days after it happened because I couldn't hold all of my secrets in, plus she saw the ring and asked me about it.
A few of Alex's team mates and their wives got us a blender, some candles, a massive bean bag chair, and a beautiful satin pink robe for me and a white satin robe for Alex.
We took a few minutes and texted everyone thank you, then we spent the rest of the night placing our gifts away and watching random tv shows.
