A nice long update for my terribly long break~
The sunflower field was gorgeous. Rows upon rows of the yellow petaled flowers stood swaying at the sun. The fairies lightly placed Yoongi and Taehyung in the centre of the flower each, and they both jumped off leaf by leaf. When they finally reached the bottom, the fairies were sitting in an almost-complete circle, waiting for them.
"What is this, ice-breaker games?" Yoongi scoffed, but still taking a seat in the circle with Taehyung following his example.
"That's right," The handsome fairy, was Seokjin his name? nodded, "We aren't sure how long we will have to stay here await, might as well get to know each other better."To Yoongi's surprise, it was rather fun. After a brief background from everyone, it just turned into everyone telling stories from their life.
Being way too engrossed in the story of when Taehyung had to run laps around the campus in his underwear, everyone dying of laughter, no one noticed how the sun was setting. They really had to do something before it would get pitch black, considering that they came here empty handed."Alright, shit." Namjoon cursed, looking at the golden globe just touching the horizon in the fiery sky. "If we don't do something quick, we'll freeze. August nights here aren't as forgiving,"
Yoongi felt a pang in the chest. That's right, it was already mid August...
As the fairy in lead delegated responsibilities to set up a campfire, the blue-haired just day there on some twig, staring at one place in thought. He came back to his senses when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked up to see Hoseok's face, illuminated by a soft orange glow that did not come from the sun. He looked back, and saw that a few flames were already dancing in a little pit of stones. Little sticks sticking out from the fire, soon to be engulfed by it.
"What's wrong?" He heard the fairy's comforting voice, "you've been staring into nothing this entire time."Again he glanced at his face, grateful for his concern. He exhaled deeply and began to pour out his bottled up thoughts.
"Honestly, coming here has changed me." Yoongi noticed that the rest settled down on nearby surfaces around the campfire, all listening to him. Fighting his nerves he continued. "Before I was a lost, demotivated student who honestly didn't see life's pleasures anymore. The only thing that brightened my days were Tae, who was always there when I needed him." He smiled at his dear friend, and the latter responded with an equally warm, boxy one."I lost my hope. Music, was the only thing I ever enjoyed doing for years. Even that began to lose its appeal.." His voice was almost trembling. It was really out of his character, spilling out his soul in front of so many people, some almost strangers. They saw him at his vulnerable state, and he usually hated that. But looking around, their faces showing worry, peace and most importantly acceptance. They were not judging him, putting him down or dismissing him. He felt supported, appreciated. And that's what made him carry on. He felt comfortable enough to do so, to share his life.
"When my parents had dropped a bomb on me with spending my summer here, I honestly couldn't care less. Although I'm an adult, I could easily just have said no, but again, there was no point in anything."
"If you continue I'm going to cry, I'm warning you!" He heard a playful cry, Tae's remark lightening the mood.
"What I didn't expect, was to come out a different person. Meeting Jimin was honestly the best thing that has happened to me."
"Ehem"
"After meeting Taehyung, of course."
After a few chuckles from the group he continued. "When I first saw him, I thought - that's it. I finally lost it. However, I wasn't hallucinating. One thing led to another, and after witnessing a tiny village in the nook of the forest, falling in love, almost being executed for that," Yoongi shook his head slowly, smiling at the ridiculousness, "here I am. And I'm so grateful that things turned out this way, I really am.."The group was silent for a while, processing his words. It was peaceful. Then unexpectedly, Jungkook spoke.
"Thank you for sharing your honest feelings, hyung. I really mean it. It's not easy to do so in front of people you barely know." The rest just nodded in agreement, "I just wanted to say, that you're always going to be welcomed here. Fairy bond is one of a kind, just like fairy love. You make it, you gain their trust forever. I will always be willing to help when in need, just remember that." He spoke quieter towards the end and blushed. The group, Yoongi included all cooed in response at his cuteness."Jungkook's right though," Namjoon added, "Don't feel pressured to share everything, but know that if you do, we will accept you, no matter what."
The blue-haired felt a tear trail down his cheek. He felt so weak yet so good. No words could describe how grateful he was. So he just sat there, sniffling. He began to full on cry when everyone engulfed him in a tight hug. He felt like part of a family. Comfort, love, acceptance, which he hasn't felt in a long time.
Only when they released him, he noticed a large (really it was medium but don't forget that he's the small one), potato, levitating in the air above the fire.
"No matter how many times I see such things I still get surprised. You guys with your magic..."
He laughed, as he felt his stomach growl with hunger.Once the potato has been portioned and distributed, Yoongi finally took us first bite in over 24 hours. The charred, unsalted piece of potato was honestly the best meal he's had in a long time. The flavours deepened by the birch smoke, the hot starchy vegetable coating his mouth and warming his insides. He felt so cozy. The only thing bothering him at the back of his mind was Jimin. Where was he? Was he supposed to take this long? Was he caught? The worried thoughts didn't leave his head, but he trusted his partner.
Once all stomachs have been filled, Namjoon asked if Yoongi had got his motivation for music back. Yoongi thought about it, and honestly he did. In fact, this situation could really go for some light background music. However the faint crackling of the fire, soft rustling of the grass and cicadas were good too.
"Oh he better be motivated! I want the completion of your last track." Exclaimed Taehyung, "it's been forever!"
"Oh, I finished that already."
"WHAT? When?" He glared at his friend, expecting answers.
"Actually, a few nights before I was sent to jail.""Wait what are you guys talking about?" Seokjin butted in, confused.
"Oh, Yoongi is a producer, a genius one at that," Tae boasted, proud for his best friend. "He plays the piano beautifully! Seriously though, I get the chills. But what I like best is his rapping."
"Stop, I'm not that good.." the blue-haired mumbled.
"No, you ARE that good," Tae argued, "this guy spits fire! All the clubs he's performed at were raving so hard.."The confused looks Tae received made him sigh.
"Right, it's hard to explain. Yoongi! Why don't you demonstrate?" He turned to his friend who choked on his spit.
"Wait, you mean like, right now?" He asked.
"Yes like right now." The brown-haired turned to the rest, "Don't you all want to hear that?"
After some approved shouts he finally gave in, and began rapping. It started out soft, with Yoongi slowly growing more confident. The rapping then intensified, until he stood up and was gesturing with his hands to the beat, jumping along. He smugly looked at the "crowd" who sat there with their jaws hanging. The passionate performance was reaching the climax, until he felt two warm hands cover his eyes. An angelic voice sent shivers down his spine.
"Hey no fair! You told me that I was going to be the one who heard your rapping first!"
Yoongi removed the hands and with a thumping heart beat turned around to face him."Jimin!" With a joyful exclaim he almost knocked him over with the tight hug. Though jimin giggled and hugged him back. They heard the group cheer behind them but they just ignored it. "Are you okay? You were taking so long, I was so worried.." the blue haired rambled but got cut off with a short peck on the lips.
Jimin looked him in the eyes and smiled. That damn smile that turned Yoongi's legs to jelly.
"It's fine now, you don't need to worry. You were amazing by the way."
"Thanks. I'm glad you finally came."
"Me too."Aye I'm back, and I'm salty. I was supposed to fly to Spain on Friday but the airline got bankrupt two days before my flight, so that's nice. My parents weren't having it so were flying to Georgia instead😂
