Meant To Be

Chapter 7

The day before New Years Eve Nat called Frankie and said "Hey change of plans I want you to pack your stuff and come to Savannah stay with me or stay with Bucky." 

"Why what's going on?' She said 

"Let's just say that I rather have one of my new best friends at a party she feels comfortable at then not have her at all. Plus you have another girl to meet that's one of mine and Bucky's best friend's her name is Wanda." Nat said 

"oh.. so you are celebrating New years eve in Savannah instead." she said 

"Yes we are so get your stuff together and get your ass here." Nat said 

"Ok." she said 

She packed up her bags and told her parents and left to leave for Savannah once she got on the road she facetimed Bucky and said "Hey I need your help.." 

"With what honey bee." he said 

"How to find you in Savannah" she said with a smile

"Nat called you.. you are coming to Savannah." he said with a big smile 

"I am why else would I be in my car right now." she said 

"Hey that is not nice I haven't got to see you in a few days and you are being sarcastic with me." he said 

She made a pouty face at her phone cause she had it on her pop socket connector and he said "Where are you now." 

"I'm leaving Brunswick now I just now it's going to be a few hours I need someone to talk to I've got my phone plugged into the charger." she said 

So for the next few hours Bucky kept her company and then she finally said "Ok..finally hitting the Savannah county line." 

"Ok well um I'm pretty far out from town baby it's past Walmart. On your left you will see a gravel road that says "Barnes Rd." that's my road and from there you will see my house at the very end of the road you will be past a lot of old houses that use to be where I had family living that's why it's Barnes Rd my road is family owned." he said 

"Ok." she said 

He kept talking to her and she was paying attention to the roads once she passed Walmart and she whispered "Got it." as she turned on her blinker and then she said "Bucky these aren't old houses these are beautiful." 

"Well some of them were remodeled my grandparents lived out there but the passed." he said

She pulled into his driveway and he came out the door and went running to her and hugged her so tight. "God I've missed you." He whispered

"Ok I've missed you too. But I can't breathe." she said 

"Sorry." he said 

He helped her carry her stuff in and he said "Mama this is Frankie that I told you about." 

She came over and hugged her and whispered "Thank you" 

"I don't know what I did but you are welcome Mrs Barnes." she said 

She smiled so big and said "You can call me Winnie and I guess my son failed to mention to you that he went to church with me on Christmas. It was the first time that he had been to church since he lost his daddy when he was 12." 

Bucky bit his lip and she said "Bucky... you didn't tell me any of that and you certainly haven't told me about your daddy." 

His eyes welled up with tears and she said "Oh now I know why you haven't told me cause you don't like to show me this side much."
