Chapter 20 > dying to know

***Jacobs POV***

I see everything move in slo-mo as everyone rushes to Kenzie's aid, one lady is frantically on the phone with 911, another holding Kenzie's head still and people running to Kenzie's side, some crying. I snap out of it and a wave of sound comes over me, I heard crying and screaming. I start to slowly walk over to Kenzie I can't believe what I'm seeing, tears fill my eyes. This is all my fault. I hear a lady yelling to see if anyone has her moms number I raise my hand slowly still in shock, I call Mel. "Mel.." I say with a shaky voice "oh Jacob how are you!" She says in a good mood, I don't respond for a second tears filling my eyes even more "Jacob? What's wrong?" She says with panic in her voice, "Kenzie was hit, north and pine st" was all I said, she hung up, I'm assuming she's rushing over. I watch as Mel pulls up running to Kenzie's side, at this point Kenz isn't responding to anything almost as if she's shut down, a little bit later the the ambulance shows up and takes Kenzie away, Mel tells me to hop in and we follow the ambulance to the hospital where the make us wait in the waiting room for hours, at this point everyone has heard about the accident, a bit later everyone is in the waiting room crying. Mark surprisingly crying the most, they finally stabilized her to the point we could go see her before they rush her into surgery , we all walk in and see Kenzie hooked up to all sorts of things, wires and tubes going all directions, she's out cold and everyone says their goodbyes as they wheel her into surgery. 9 hours later the doctor says she out and resting but we are welcome to go see her, we all enter her room where she's hooked up to even more then before, Mark and Annie have to step outside because it was too much for them to handle, we all stay with her in the room until Johnny shows up with flowers like it's prom night, I get so angry I rush at him hitting the flowers to the floor, punching him until Hayden drags me off him, I blow up telling him this is his fault, that if he hadn't cheated she wouldn't be in this mess, of course no one was glad to see him but they let him stay against my will. Night falls and Maddie and Mel fall asleep on the couch and me and Mark sit in the two recliners I doze off leaving Mark still wide awake looking at near death Kenzie.

It's been a hot minute since I last posted, been way too busy haha this isn't a normal chapter just to get the story going depending on how this chapter does I might be ending the book but if it does well then I won't haha🧐
