Life or Death

This time, the final time I get to see anything I'm being basically dragged to my death. I see the ominous school and what innocence it carries. The innocence I never carried. I may have been innocent for a few years but that all vanished the day that man came into my life and tore the innocence out of my soul with those knives her threw.

All of a sudden we come to a sudden stop and I'm pushed out of the car. I don't have the detonator, I'm just hoping he waits long enough for me to say goodbye. Maybe I can even get some people out of here. I stare at the place I once felt safer in than I'd ever felt before. I walk through the doors, I realize they've never seemed so big and overwhelming. It feels like the doors are judging me and trying to make me feel more shameful than I should feel.

The hallways are lit up, I haven't been here in so long. I miss the petty arguments with the popular girl and the weird friendships that I had. All gone in a moment. "Hannah get further in! Or I'll come and push you further myself! Or better yet, I'll kill your family! Sound good to you!"he screams into my ear as he tries to just get on my nerves. "I'm going,"I say with my teeth gritted. I am in the middle of school when I spot the one person I don't want to be caught up in the crossfire. "Timothy,"I murmured but he still hears me. He turns around and his eyes widen. "You've never called me that before,"he says trying to act like he is oblivious to the fact that I have a bomb strapped to me.

"You mustn't get out of here as well as the others!"I say rather urgently. "Of course not!"but he then took off after saying that and told everyone to spread the word. "Pls go!"I tell him when he comes back for me. "No, there's no way in hell I'm leaving you here to die,"he says with sadness evident in his eyes. "The detonators going off in 5...,"I hear through the earpiece. "LEAVE PLS!"I shout and cry for him to just go. "NO, I CAN'T!"He says finally. "I'll deactivate the bomb,"he says seriously. "....4,"they continue. "You have four seconds, you'll never make it,"I say seriously. "I wanna die. I'm tired of living and always seeing people suffer because of me,"I say while crying, "please just let me go."

"....3,"they say almost screaming out of excitement. "I'm almost done,"he says while sweating profusely. "....2,"they say while laughing and everyone is joining in now. My tears are falling because I am going to die and take another person's family away from them again. "....1,"they say as they make random jokes about what they are going to do with the parts of my body they find. "I...,"is all I heard my brother say before everything went dark. I guess zero was closer than we thought.

A few days later I wake up but I have no idea where I am. "W-where?"I ask. Then suddenly I hear someone say. "Oh thank goodness you're ok,"I realize it is three people. My foster family. I open my eyes slowly cause there is a lot of light around me and my head is already pounding. "You're in the hospital. You have minor damage and you're completely fine," my brother says kindly. Tears brimming in their eyes, all their eyes.

Over a year, I become much better and go to school. I even talk to my family online as I await the court case. I also get the good-news that my enemy is in jail. I am safe. I am happy and I am not scared to be anymore. I go on trial so that I can go home eventually but the trial is taking long. I have a boyfriend. Remember Tobias, one of my brother's friends. But sadly, he did get a long talking to from my brother. You know the 'if you hurt my sister' speech. Though I think my brother is serious, like he'd honestly kill him if he did anything wrong. Eventually, the man who's my enemy gets a sentence but not a death sentence, more like 'you'll stay in jail till you die' sentence.

I have to stay with my foster family until the end of my school year but I honestly am going to miss them. When my year is almost over, I receive a box while I am at school. So in my locker. Weird. It is a medium sized box, I open the box and read the letter.

Hi Hannah,
Did you honestly think you'd ever be safe from me? I'm out of prison and I'm coming for you. You know something? I took a little trip and I met your family. They're a beautiful family but not anymore I mean they're dead after all. See you soon.

Sincerely your friend,

I am visibly shaking and crying. I was just about to go home and see them so we could make up for the time we missed out on. I just talked to them yesterday and I saw my brother Drake. I then look in the box for anything else. I see a picture, my eyes are popping out of their sockets. It is a gruesome sight. I'll let your imagination run wild on that one. Cause I'm not about to explain how gruesome a person has to be to do this. And how much they have to hate me to do this. My whole family is in the picture, dead. I start shaking with fear and fall to the ground as I realize my life will seriously never be normal ever. It doesn't matter who I put in jail people are after my life.

I stare into space for a matter of minutes. I then start running, I make it home to the last family I have left and I see my brother. I start to relate the whole story but suddenly it dawns on me. He doesn't try to comfort me, he doesn't even say hi, or call my foster parents, it isn't him. I start to run out the door but it is too late.

I'm drugged and taken.

AGAIN!!!!

I'm tortured and....
