Little while after we left Mark's house, the warning he gave me has been pondering my mind. What side would I have to choose, good or evil? Someone over the other? I couldn't quite figure it out, though what ever happens, he'll die before I will. I didn't want that, after all he's done for me. He's protecting me from all dangers. He's the first true friend I've ever had. How or why would I ever betray him? These questions will never be answered till they happen. I then looked over at Ray, his shined red as a car drove by. His eyes still glowing red as ever. How could I betray someone who has done so much for me...
After awhile we finally reached his house. It was pretty nice from the front, it looked nicer than mine. As we entered, we noticed that there was a white car in the front of his house.
"She's already here I guess." Ray pointed out.
"Who's here?" I asked.
"Kendall." Ray responded with a smile.
I haven't seen Kendall ever since the party. I'm guessing since she's with Ray, that she's also demon. We walked in and we saw her walk from the kitchen. She went up to Ray and gave him a kiss. Then she turned to me and gave a blunt stare. She then tapped my cheeks, I could feel the warmth of her fingers on both sides.
"You're a hybrid aren't you?" She asked.
"How did you know?" I asked.
"You're half cold on one side of your face, while the other is warm." She responded.
"So you're a demon right?" I asked nervously
"Actually she's not." Ray mentioned.
I looked confused and both saw that. Ray then walked over to us. "You see," He began. "She's actually an angel."
"Aren't they dangerous to us?" I asked while putting a step back.
"Yeah, but she's friendly, and also my girlfriend." Ray responded.
"Wait, how did this happen?" I asked, more curious then ever.
Ray looked over at Kendall and they both nodded. "She'll tell you the story." Ray said while giving an an awkward smile.Kendall and I sat on the couch and we both just stared at one another. She began breathing in and out, as if trying to relax. It made me curious if angels actually had anxiety.
"A long time ago, I wasn't the angel that you see here." Kendall began. "I was a demon hunter. I usually worked alone because my partners tend to get themselves killed or in the way. One night, I felt as if a demon was nearby. I can generally track demons because of the heat give off, so I followed it. I ended up finding what I thought was a demon. The person I thought was a demon was young man, around his 20's. It was raining and he looked afraid of me for some reason. I have a special dagger made for killing demons, that may have been why he was so afraid of me."
Kendall then began trying to breathe again, she was also slightly shaking. Ray cam over and comfort her.
"It's okay babe, you're almost done." Ray said.
Kendall nodded and then relaxed.
"I was about to kill him, but Ray stepped in front of him. Held his arms out wide, with no weapon or fear. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't fight back. He then explained to me that the person I was gonna kill was human and that there was a demon who put a curse on him, that demon being Alan. He offered if he can wipe the man's memories, then I could kill Ray. I don't know why I trusted him but my gut told me so. And when I did, he gave me his word and he did what he promised. He stood there after wiping the memories off the man. He told me to kill him, I just couldn't. I don't why I didn't, I just felt that he wasn't a threat, that he was peaceful. So I shook my head and I told him I wanted to get to know him better before we did that." Kendall said while smiling with tears coming from her eyes. "For so long after knowing him, we've grown so close, he's done so much. He's kept me safe, he made me feel...alive."
The whole story made me smile, the fact that angels and demons could live with one another peacefully. Seeing it in person was just amazing. I couldn't stop smiling at the fact of it all.I then wanted to know one more thing.
"How long have you two been together?" I asked them both.
"About 100 years." Ray responded with an awkward smile.
My eyes were widened by shock.
"You guys are over 100 years old!" I shouted in shock.
"Yeah, about 160 for me." Ray responded.
"I'm about 155 years old." Kendall added on.
Demon nor angels look nearly that old. I guess Demons and Angels can live forever.
"Jeez, must be nice looking so young." I said feeling a little ashamed.
"Definitely a gift." Ray responded. "Oh, by the way, I got to train you tomorrow."
"For what?" I asked.
"Tomorrow we're going after Alan." Ray responded with a confident smile.
