Light breached my eyes, though it was too bright to see through to the other side. I heard muffled voices, one was female, the other is male. I couldn't tell who they were cause the voices were to muffled to really know. I couldn't believe that we survived Alan, but from what I know, it was luck that Mark saved us. I could help but feel happy that I'm still alive but pissed that Alan still works among us, and barely scratched as that. He was a maniac, definitely more deadly than I once realized. I felt disappointed in myself that I could hold my own in that fight, just a distraction if anything. Though, it felt kind of a good thing. I kind of understand how Alan works. He seems to get more mad as he got hit, he feels as though he's more powerful than any other demon, so he was cocky which made him upset when he got hit. I could say that he might've been mad at himself which is a possibility though I couldn't help but feel wrong. If I wake up from this darkness I'm in, I have to ask Ray about the decision to stay on Kendall's side. Fortunately Alan doesn't know the Kendall is actually an angel, if he did, who knows how'd react.
As I was floating in what seemed like endless darkness with only a crack of light above me, I could hear someone walking towards me. I couldn't see who it was, but I'd imagine it was a hallucination.
"Hello again Chase." Mark greeted.
"Mark? You can be in my mind?" I asked.
"Of course, you thought I couldn't?" He asked in confusion.
"No I didn't, it just seemed out of character for you." I responded.
He just sighed at me. "Well anyway, I want you to know that you'll be fine, should heal soon thanks to Kendall." He said.
"Can I ask you something Mark?" I asked,
"Sure, what is it?" He asked.
"Do you know why Ray stayed on Kendall's side then switching over to Satan?"
"I can't answer that Chase, only he can." Mark responded.
"Oh um, why did you save us exactly?" I asked.
He then sighed again, he seemed a little aggravated about something, this time, I hope it's not me. "Like I said, it wasn't your time yet, neither is Ray's." He responded.
"That's right, there's a choice I have to choose." I said, while remembering his warning.
"Well there's no choosing sides, fate had already led to what you'll choose." Mark explained. "Anyway, I must be off. You'll soon be awake." Mark then began to walk away.
I didn't say anything because it didn't seemed worth distracting him. I looked up and saw the light began to crack faster, it was bigger than when I once saw it earlier. Soon, I was back into reality. As I woke up, I looked around as I was rubbing my eyes. I could see Kendall's worried face and Mark lying on the couch. I turned to my left and say that Ray wasn't anywhere in sight.
"Wheres Ray?" I asked.
"Outside." Kendall responded. "But you shouldn't move, you've been out for awhile."
I just ignored her and stood up as fast I could, then tried to run outside, but I tripped along the way, nearly hitting my head. I quickly got up and just walked outside. As I looked around, I saw Ray sitting in a chair, his shirt was ripped and his scratches were scars. I walked over, I just had to ask him the question.
"Ray, have thought about?" I asked him.
"What are you talking about?" He asked in confusion.
"You know what I'm talking about." I responded calmly.
"Please do explain." Ray said, still with confusion on his face.
"Joining with Satan." I responded.
"Of course I have, all demons have that question, one out of a hundred actually say no." Ray explained. "Of course, I didn't want to, I didn't want to be my brother." I
I felt sad a bit, the fact he's basically an outcast to his own people. I then grabbed the closest chair and sat in front of him.
"Was it because of Kendall?" I asked. As I said that, He looked at me with sadness in his eyes. "Why though?" I asked in curiosity.
He sighed and began to talk. "A long time ago, about little more than a century ago," He began. "Kendall wasn't just a demon hunter. She was one of the most well trusted and reliable angels alive. Her friend, Jessie, they went on a mission. Let's just say that mission changed her life for the worse. Jessie lost her life to a purple demon, of course I'm sure you know who that is. Kendall barely survived but she escaped one way or another. She fell into a deep depression, one she still is in right now. That's why she doesn't talk as much, but she isn't nearly as bad as she told she was in the beginning. She only had dreams of her best friend dying before her eyes, it wasn't pretty sight I'm sure. Now, she always feels worried when I leave without her. If it wasn't for Mark saving us, I'm sure Kendall wouldn't be here much longer." Ray explained.
"Like Alan would get her?" I asked.
"No Chase, she'll probably use the dagger she has to end it all." Ray responded.
From what I know now, Kendall would commit suicide if Ray were to die before she did. It was sad that Kendall has been through more than I could imagine. Then, Kendall walked outside to see us. She then looked at me.
"Chase, Dawn is here to see you." She said.
I then got off my chair and began heading to see Dawn. I'm glad she came for two reasons. One, I get to see her again. Two, it'll let Ray and Kendall talk for a bit alone. As I walked into the living room, I was greeted to blonde girl herself. I could help but feel happy around her. I sat beside her and we soon began talking. It felt a little different around her though, I could feel something wasn't the same as before. He eyes were glowing differently than usual. I wondered, were they always shining white?
