It was nearly Christmas. Theodora loved Hogwarts and didn't miss the orphanage at all. When McGonagal came around collecting names for who was staying, Theodora and Abigail immediately signed up.

Before everyone broke up for Christmas, Dumbledore announced that there would be a transfer student coming from Italy. Theodora and Abigail exchanged interested glances. McGonagal brought out the sorting hat and called:

"Dolce, Bella."

A girl with dark brown hair and blue eyes approached the stool. She looked nervous. She sat down and the hat was placed on her head.

"RAVENCLAW!" The hat shouted. The Ravenclaw table cheered loudly. Bella skipped over to the table, smiling from ear to ear. Theodora clapped as well. Draco stared at her.

"What is it, Draco?" Theodora asked.

"Slytherins don't clap for any other houses." He sneered.

"Why?" Theodora shrugged.

"We just don't." Draco said. Theodora glared at him.

"She looks nice so I'll clap for her if I want to. Ok, Malfoy? I might even become her friend. An bhfuil fadhb agat?" Theodora hissed. Draco gaped at Theodoras outburst but shook his head. Theodora glared at the tablecloth, muttering Irish curse words.

Draco didn't know what 'An bhfuil fadhb agat' meant but he guessed it was something angry because it was said in a negative tone.

The feast ended and most people went home for Christmas. Only Theodora, Abigail, Bella, the golden trio and a girl in third year called Arianna Mace stayed, along with a scattering of the Weasley's and a seventh year girl called Penelope Clearwater.

Theodora and Abigail liked having the common room to themselves and they stayed up all night talking.  The next day was Christmas Eve. It had snowed over night and Theodora and Abigail had a snowball fight with the girl Arianna Mace, who had auborn hair and scatterings of freckles across the bridge of her nose.

"Hello." She said, her Irish accent clear (like Theodora's).

"Dia Duit. Are you Irish?" Theodora said. Arianna nodded.

"I see you are as well!" She said. Theodora smiled and held up a snowball.

"Care to join us?" She teased. Arianna nodded and made a snowball of her own. Abigail copied. Then the snowball fight began!

The three girls went back into the school, absolutely soaking. They parted ways. 'Dora and Abigail went to the Slytherin common room and Arianna went to her common room.

Theodora and Abigail got dried and went to dinner. After that they went to bed and fell asleep quickly.

"Dora! Wake up! It's Christmas!" Abigail shrieked. Theodora sat up and saw a small mound of presents at the end of her bed. She'd never gotten presents back at the orphanage.

The first one was wrapped in blue wrapping paper. It came with no card. Theodora ripped it open. It was a black notebook. The pages were blank. A diary. Theodora smiled and opened the next one. It was from Abigail and was a charm bracelet in the Slytherin colours.

"Thanks Abby!" Theodora said. Abigail was opening Theodoras present for her. It was also a charm bracelet with four charms. A cauldron, (Abigail's favourite class was potions) a wand, a cat, and a heart.

"Thanks 'Dora!" Abby said. Theodora's last present was from Draco. She was still angry with him but curious as to what the present was. Theodora opened it. It was a Slytherin banner.

Theodora rolled her eyes and shoved the banner under her bed. Theodora went to get dressed. Abigail followed and they both went down to the Great Hall for breakfast. Since only a small number was staying there was only one table for both students and teachers.

Theodora sat next to Bella. The two girls chattered away while Abigail talked to Arianna. By the end of the day, Abigail, Arianna, Theodora and Bella were best friends and they didn't care what house they were in.

Theodora could safely say it was her best Christmas ever!
