The next day Theodora woke up early. Abigail was still asleep. Theodora pulled out the diary she'd recieved and stared at it. It had a plain black leather cover and Theodora wondered who had sent it to her. She grabbed a quill and opened it. There was a name scrawled at the top: Tom Riddle. Riddle? Theodoras surname was Riddle...was this Tom her father?

Theodora scrawled the date at the top and wrote her name Theodora Riddle underneath it. Then her name and the date faded and writing appeared.

Hello Theodora.

Theodora dropped her quill in surprise. A talking diary?! She picked her quill up again and wrote:

Who are you?

My name is Tom Riddle. This is my diary.

Are we related? My name is Theodora Riddle.

I do not know, I am only sixteen, maybe in the future you are my daughter?

Well ... I am twelve, in Hogwarts.

Ah, Hogwarts. It was my home. I was an orphan you see.

I am an orphan as well.

We are quite similar, Theodora. Are you powerful?

I suppose so.

What do you mean?

I can read minds and make myself invisible.

Fascinating.

Yes, do you think we are related?

I think so. We have the same surname name and Theodora was always my favourite name if I was to get a daughter.

Wow. That is amazing.

Theodora couldn't help it; a small smile spread across her face. She was talking to her dad! Theodora 'talked' to Tom for a couple of hours then Abigail began waking up.

Tom, I have to go to breakfast.

Goodbye Theodora.

Bye Tom.

Theodora closed the diary and slid it under her pillow. She made her bed and went to have a shower. After that Theodora dried her hair using magic and brushed her teeth. She got into a skirt, woolly tights, and a jumper. Abigail was awake.

"I'm going to get breakfast, I'll see you down there." Theodora said. Abigail nodded and went to get a shower. Theodora went to the Great Hall. Bella and Arianna were already there.

"Hello!" Theodora said, sitting next to them.

"Hi 'Dora!" Bella said.

"Hello Theodora!" Arianna said. The girls chatted as they ate their breakfast. Abigail came down not long after and joined them at the table. The quartet had another snowball fight that day and came in dripping with snow and shivering. They got dried and met in the library. They began talking and the topic turned to birthdays.

"When's your birthday, Abigail?" Bella asked.

"January tenth, How about you, Bella?" Abigail said.

"March twentieth," Bella answered, she turned to Arianna. "When's yours, Ari?"

"April fourteenth," Arianna said. "When's yours Dora?"

"December thirtieth." Theodora said.

"That's in four days!" Bella cried. Theodora shrugged; her birthday was never important to her, it was never celebrated in the orphanage.

Abigail, Bella and Arianna exchanged looks. Theodora excused herself to go to the bathroom.

"We have to do something for 'Dora's birthday!" Bella blurted out. Abigail and Arianna nodded and the three began planning ideas. Theodora came back and the quartet got caught up on their homework they'd got over the Christmas holidays.

Operation Thedodora birthday plan began after Abigail and Theodora went back to their common room. Bella and Arianna went to professor Dumbledore to get permission for Theodora's birthday to be held in the Slytherin Common room. They also had to ask permission for Bella and Ari to enter the Slytherin common room.

They guessed Dumbledores password ("Chocolate frogs") and went up. Dumbledore was sitting at his desk.

"How can I help you?" He asked. Bella and Ari quicky explained the situation and Dumbledore gave permission. After they left Dumbledore began to think. Theodora was like Tom but she wasn't. She had friends; true friends. Tom had followers.

Hmm...Dumbledore thought, maybe I was wrong about her.
