Newt's fascination of Y/N being able to lift the books with only their mind was soon interrupted as a small wince escaped their lips. He quickly snapped out of his daze and gazed down at the child; their teeth were clenched together so tight, it looked as if they'd bite through their jaw.

"Alright, alright. That's enough." He crouched down and spoke softly.

Y/N slowly opened their eyes, then lowered the books onto the floor. Pulling their hand back to them, then gently held it to their chest and sighed. "I did it."

"You certainly did." Newt whispered to himself, still staring in awe at the small child beside him. Y/N stumbled as they stood themselves up straighter. Newt reached his hands out to catch them in case they fell again. "Incredible,"

The child looked beside them in minor confusion at his words. Newt spoke again.

"Y/N, would you mind if I asked you a few questions tonight? It would only be for a little while." He asked, hoping for their approval. They scrunched their eyes at him while thinking; then, they nodded a little.

Newt smiled contently, then sat back down on the couch and looked at the child in expectation. Y/N glanced at the spot for them, and gently sat themselves down, picking up the blanket and wrapping it around themselves.

The man held his hands together in his lap, and decided it was better to stare ahead instead of directly down at them. "So, when exactly did you know that you had this...ability?"

They looked down at the floor, and thought. Until finally responding. "Five,"

Newt scrunched his eyes in confusion. "You were five years old?"

Nodding, Y/N spoke quietly again. "Miss. King was saying mean things, so I thought really hard, and she started screaming 'bout her flower pot breaking suddenly." A smile pulled into the corner of their mouth.

"Who is miss King?" Newt asked, finally looking down at them.

"My old neighbor; she was really mean to mummy and me. She called me a-." The child stopped themselves, eyes growing wide, and hands covering their mouth.

The Magizoologist tilted his head in slight concern. "What did she call you?"

Y/N's face showed terror, and the child pulled their legs to their chest, hugging them tightly. They rocked themselves slightly back and forth. Newt, thankfully, picked up on their habit.

"You do not need to tell me if you are afraid to." He comforted.

"I-I'm not afraid!" They slightly yelped, instantly looking at him. "Mummy, she.." They paused. "I'm not allowed to say it."

Newt could only offer a slight look of sympathy, before continuing. "Well, there is no fault in that. Do you remember a few days ago, when you told me that you and your father were alike?"

"I did?"

He nodded. "Yes, yes you certainly did. You said that you and you papa shared the same 'secret'." Their face was blank. Newt's morphed into slight concern. "Do you really not remember?"

They shook their head slowly, and looked at the floor in shame. "I'm sorry."

The wizard let out a small sigh, and shook his head once again. "No, you have nothing to apologize for. How about I ask you something else, would you like that?"

Y/N only nodded this time.

"Alright then,  what is the hugest object you moved?"

Eyes trailing to the ceiling, the child thought; until, they found their answer. "I was angry at mama once, and I moved the table just a pinch." They finished, showing what 'a pinch' looked like with their fingers.
