Before the War( Remus Lupin Love Story)

Chapter 5

I listened to the hat as my robes quickly changed color. My tie turned into a Yellow and black tie and the area of where the crest is turns into a badger with Yellow and Black behind it. I smiled proud of my new house already as i'm shuffled off the stage to my table where some students are already sitting. 

As the sorting ceremony begins I watch all the first years be sorted into their respected houses for the next seven years. It was actually cute We ended up with about 10 new Hufflepuffs plus myself so it wasn't to bad. 

" Welcome back students, I'm so glad you all are here again to enjoy another feast this year. There are some quick rules we must go over for the first years ... and our lovely Marauders. The forbidden forest is not to be used for a tea party under no circumstance ... Mr. Potter, Mr. Black" You could see the mischievous glint behind Dumbledore's eyes as he called them out." Any ways First years are forbidden from entering the forest and same goes for the rest of you. Quidditch try outs are on the 30th of September so with that in mind please dig in to the glorious food provided by the house elf's!" I watched as he waved his hand and the tables were lined with food of all kinds. 

" You should eat the mashed potatoes and gravy. If you eat the green bean casserole it will make you severely sick." I looked up to see Louise being careful with what she puts on her plate. 

" Thanks for the warning" I grab the other stuff avoiding what she tells me and I sit eating happily. 

" So your a seer no?  I always wondered what that would be like is it fun?" She looks at me with a grim expression. 

" Some times it is and other times its not. You see It happens spontaneously and irregularly. Most of the time its something that could happen in the near future. Other times it might be very distant. Like the time I saw my grandmother die in an accident" She shrugs her shoulders taking a bite. " Honestly I just mutter nonsense some times. " I see her smirk" It keeps the boys off my shoulders and Lily's for a little bit. 

I nodded as I finished my plate. "This was really good. Its better than our feast at Ilvermorny. Then again we don't have house elf's in our kitchens we had other types of creatures. " I smiled as she nodded before the dessert was brought out and I couldn't believe my eyes. They had desserts from all over the world. I grabbed a little of almost everything. But when I looked up I saw Remus was covered in chocolate enjoying himself. " How the hell doesn't he have Diabetes ?" Louise just laughed. 

" Not sure yet he loves chocolate though to the point were it could be considered unhealthy for the human body." I snorted laughing as the feast concluded with the prefects leading all of us to our common rooms. As we walked out of the great hall I couldn't believe how much larger Hogwarts was compared to Ilvermorny. I followed Louise to the common room stunned by how many painting were talking already and asleep. Even the few ghosts were lingering around for the evening. I was shocked though when they showed us the rhythm of Helga Hufflepuff. 

" You don't do the rhythm right you will be drenched in vinegar. .. Are there any questions?" No one raised their hand as we all walked in the site before me was indescribable. Even though there were no windows at all in the common room it felt like the sunshine was raining down on me and the room had soft yellows and a crackling fire that added so well to the room. The walls were the a darker brick from those that were the schools walls. Instead they were a darker grey that did well with the yellow flags all over the place the book shelf was filled with so many different books. Than there was the talking picture of Helga Hufflepuff her self. She was talking to all the first years who still had questions that really were not answered. I smiled a little heading towards the girls dorm to see I was the only other girl sharing a room with Louise. There was only another Hufflepuff girl in our year and she was the Prefect so it didn't matter. 

" So this is what its like here... Its so much nicer and I'm happy to be here." I looked around and saw my bed had my trunk at the end of it. I opened it up pulling out my Pajamas before going to the girls bathroom on our floor. I showered and changed before slipping back into the room to see Louise was already asleep and I put my dirty wash in the hamper for the house elf's to take. before climbing into bed excited for what is to come in the morning.
