When we reached Sydney, Australia the first place my father took me to was his apartment. I didn't mind I needed to shower and get into fresh clothing. "Cal," my father called from the living room, "I'm going to check on the bakery when your done you can head down there if you want."
"Okay, I'll come by later." I called out. I took a shower. While drying my dark brown hair I picked out my clothes. A gray shirt with khaki pants and gray tennis shoes. I then blow dried my hair and then tied it into a loose ponytail. When I was dressed I went to the kitchen and ate a sandwich. My phone vibrated so I checked it and saw my father was calling me from his bakery. "Hello?" I said. I heard shuffling from the other side and then my father said, "Cal, sweetheart we have a big order today from one of my clients can you come down to the bakery real fast and help me make a cake and a batch of cupcakes. Please?" I didn't have anything better to do so I said yes.
I left the house and walked to the bakery. It was only two blocks or so away. When I finally got there I rushed into the kitchen. "Dad hey I'm here," I said. My dad pointed at the station I was going to work at. This guy, tall, dark brown hair, tanned skin, was working at the icing station where I'm supposed to work at. I grab a apron from the wooden hanger and wash my hands twice. Then I walk over to the Icing Station. "Hey, I'm Callie." I say to the brown haired boy. He looked up at me and rolled his eyes and said, "Look I'm not here to make friends. I'm here as my job. Okay? So just help me ice these cakes and cupcakes. If you need to tell me something about the treats or ask me something that involves my job then my name is Calum." He went back to icing this vanilla cupcake. I go to a corner at the table where we ice the cupcakes and cakes and I start with an chocolate cupcake.
My father told me that the cupcakes are supposed to be baby blue and soft pink. The pink ones are supposed to be chocolate and the blue ones are supposed to be vanilla. After we ice them we have to sprinkle them with powdered sugar. So I started icing the chocolate cupcake soft pink. When I was done I sprinkled the sugar on it. Calum kept looking up from whatever I was doing trying to find something wrong with it. When we were both done icing the cupcakes we had to ice the cake. Together. Helping each other. I didn't like this Calum guy and I already knew he didn't like me. The cake was supposed to be purple and then a blue and pink diamond pattern on it. Then with white icing we both wrote 'Happy Birthday Mary-Beth and Alexander'.
"We're finally done." said Calum when we wrote the words.
"Yeah we are.." I said. My dad came by to store the cakes and cupcakes in its white fancy boxes. "Great job Cal." said my dad. Me and Calum both looked up and said, "Thanks."
I turned to Calum right away and he turned to me. We killer stared each other. "Well, my shift is over.." said Calum. My dad looked up from packing the treats and said, "Calum I trust you and I trust my daughter. Why don't you take her to the new restaurant downtown. She really needs to get out more." Calum's eyes widened realizing I'm the daughter of his boss and that he treated me like a bastard. "Dad.. I don't need someone showing me around." I said. Calum scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Callie, you haven't been in Australia for ages. C'mon what'd you say Calum not like I'm asking you to date her."
"Yeah sure. I'll show Callie around." Calum said.
I took off my apron and grabbed my jacket from the hook I left it on. Calum was already ready and was waiting outside the bakery. "Ready?" he asked.
"Look you don't have to take me to some restaurant because your boss told you to." I said.
"Well Callie look. I'm sorry I've been rude I'm not usually like that I was just having a rough day." Calum said.
"So Calum you don't have to take your shit out on me." I said back.
"Well I'm sorry. To make it up dinner's on me." He said.
"Whatever this isn't a date by the way." I said back.
We went in Calum's car to head to the restaurant. It was classy in that sort of don't dress up but don't dress down too much sort of way.
I liked it.
Calum and I entered. "Dinner for two." Calum said to the waitress. She left to find us a table,
"Excuse me." I said. I was about to go to the bathroom when Calum grabbed my forearm. "Where are you going?" Calum asked.
"Restroom." I replied. He nodded. I left to the restroom.
When I got back Calum was waiting for me so we can be seated. The waitress came back again to lead us to our table. "Let me show you to your table Mr. and Mrs. Hood." She said.
I looked at Calum and he looked at me.
Once we were seated and the waitress left to give us time to order I asked, "Mr. and Mrs. Hood?!?!"
"Look, Hood is my last name and since I was paying I said the bill will be on me. She asked for the last name and I said Hood. I didn't know she'll marry us." Calum responded.
"Fine okay." I said.

After the waitress took our orders and gave us our food Calum and I ate quietly. He kept looking at me. "You look nothing like your father." He said. I looked at him and said, "Thanks.....?".
We were in a conversation about the baking after that. The waiter came with the bill. "Look, my dad gave me money and you were kind of forced to take me out to dinner so I should pay." I said. Calum shook his head. We then got into an argument about who's paying the bill. It ended up as half and half.

Calum drove me home. "Thanks for taking me to the restaurant." I said when we reached my house.
"Thanks for having your dad as my boss. I had an amazing time." Calum replied. I smiled and we said our byes.
I walked in the apartment and my dad was waiting in the living room was waiting for me in the living room.
"Hey Cal did you have a good time?" he asked.
"Yeah. I'm going to shower and go to bed. Okay?" I said.
"Okay. Goodnight." my dad said.
