"What???!!" Nearly all the students clamoured after the teachers explained what was expected of them for their test.

"You are all engaging in a solo battle against one another," Aizawa repeated, though this explanation was vaguer and simpler than the previous in depth discussion.

"But why?" Asked a short male from the duelist quirk handlers. "Isn't this.. kinda... extreme for the first day..?"

Izuku agreed silently. A battle on the first day, and he only knew the quirks of Uraraka, Iida, and of course, Kacchan. And besides, I can't handle One for All yet... the broccoli head thought.

A taller boy, seeming to be the smaller one's brother, put his hand on the short one's shoulder, murmuring something in his ear. The short boy seemed a little more eased, but still tense. The taller one then nodded at Aizawa. "So let it be said, so let it be done."

Class 1-A looked at the boy curiously. Who said such a thing in the present? It almost sounded like he was wiser beyond his years. He was fifteen, like the rest of them. What was the deal with the odd phrase?

But Aizawa and Pegasus just nodded in return. "Any more questions before we begin?"

"Can we attack anyone?" A boy with spiked red hair, Kirishima, called out.

"Yes," Aizawa said. "But, I want Class 1-A to make Class D-1 their focus. D-1, your primary objective is to engage battle with 1-A."

The students all nodded, tensing.

"And most importantly, do not fight to intentionally harm others. I want as little injury as possible. If your opponent is worn out, leave them be and find someone else to spar." Aizawa said sternly. "There are forty of you, you should all start with one opponent, though of course this will change in the battle. When Mr. Pegasus and I call for time, stop immediately. You will be assessed on how well you use your quirk, or decks, and whether or not you use it efficiently. We will elaborate upon your results when we see what you all are capable of."

"Are we all ready?" Pegasus asked the two classes.

"Yes!!" The students chanted excitedly, though some kept their cool demeanor and simply nodded.

Heterochromatic eyes scanned the duelists calculatingly. An unusual but simple task... he thought. Though they can't be better than any of us, with those cards of theirs. None of them seem put up to the task.

Then his father's words entered his head.

If you see people on the same pedestal as you, think about why you're grouped up with them. Then, show them you're superior to them, until you stand on the pedestal yourself, with no one else above you!

The boy hissed softly and clenched his fist. I am superior without my left side! I can be who I want without it! Bring it on!

The students all spread out somewhat evenly, the hero course facing the duelists. Bakugo's palms were already sparking menacingly, and he smirked at the duelists.

Their teachers walked out of the sparring area, clipboards and pens in hand. Once they were clear of the battle zone, Aizawa raised his hand and shouted, "Go!"

"DIEE!!" Bakugo screamed, immediately flinging himself at one of the duelists. The brown haired duelist just stared at Bakugo, not showing the slightest bit of being scared. Before Bakugo could land a hit, the duelist yelled, "I summon Vorse Raider in attack mode!"

Throwing a card on the duel disk on his arm, the duelist made a monster appear. Then, since Bakugo couldn't redirect his attack because of how close he was, the duelist grabbed the explosive boy's wrist firmly and stepped to the side, clear of Bakugo's fists as Vorse Raider launched his attack on the ash blonde, thrusting the boy out of the way. Bakugo retaliated by sending an explosion at the monster and landed roughly on the ground. He got up quickly and wiped his mouth. "You idiot! Now I'll definitely kill you!" Sparks flew from his palms once more as he prepared to attack again.

The duelist looked down at him and scoffed. "You can try, but you won't get anywhere. Stupid heroes. You're just meddling in with what isn't yours!"

Bakugo let out an animal cry and launched himself again at his new rival.

Meanwhile, Iida was fending off against Takeru, while Kirishima fought the short duelist who spoke out before. Kirishima grinned toothily. "This is fun!" He cheered, smashing another of the duelist's monsters with his quirk.

"Midoriya, isn't it?" A familiar voice spoke to the greenette. Izuku turned around to see Yusaku.

"Let's see how good you really are." Yusaku said.

Izuku gulped and nodded, getting into a crouch as he raised his fists in front of him. "Y-you're on!"
