While Class 1-A met their homeroom teacher, who they would come to know the strange man as, Class D-1 was introduced to theirs.

"Welcome, future duelists! Of course, that's what I'm assuming you've come here for, though some of you, I believe, have an interest in being a duelist and a hero, no?" The man looked at them all critically, his gaze sharp. They'll make fine duelists, he thought in approval. However, they still have much to learn before they get there.

"You may recognize me," the man continued, adjusting the sleeve of his red suit. "I am Maximillion Pegasus, the one who invented Duel Monsters. That is why U.A hired me to teach you, and I plan to teach you well."

"Mr. Pegasus, sir," called a student with turquoise hair, raising his hand. "Some o' us have quirks, ya see, an', well, I just wanted to know if we'll ever be workin' with them hero course students."

Pegasus nodded. "I have arranged with Mr. Aizawa, the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A for this class to work with his. In fact," he checked his watch. "We're to expect them on the field in five minutes sharp. Up now, everyone. There are physical education uniforms in the lockers over there. Get changed, and then we shall go."

Surprised, the students got up and walked over to the lockers, many of them whispering among themselves.

"Mr. Pegasus, why are we going to the field? What about the ceremony and introductions and everything?" asked a crimson eyed boy as the class walked to the field.

"I, nor Mr. Aizawa, have time for those sort of things, young Yuya," Pegasus said loftily. "You're here to learn to be duelists, and ultimately, though you may not see it yet, heroes too."

"But I don't think I want to be a hero," protested Yuya. "I just want to make people smile with my duels. I want to be an entertainer duelist."

Pegasus smiled knowingly. "And you will, young Yuya. But you're also here to learn other things. You have a quirk, don't you?"

Yuya nodded.

"Well, you can make it useful here along with your other skills." Pegasus waved his hand to the field, where Class 1-A and Aizawa were waiting. They approached the other class, who looked just as surprised to see them as the duelists were to learn that they were coming to the field instead of assembly.

Pegasus motioned for his class to stand with 1-A as he went up to Aizawa. The duelists didn't mingle with the heroes-in-training, instead keeping to a closed off group, noticeably separate from the other class.

Some of the heroes didn't want to interact with the duelists either. Iida was outraged when he saw them, silently fuming. Bakugo looked annoyed upon laying eyes on them. Izuku was curious, but cautious. He wanted to keep a distance from the unfriendly Yusaku. How the blue haired boy had Takeru Homura as a friend, Izuku wasn't quite sure.

"You're probably wondering what this is all about," Aizawa said. He addressed his class. "This is Class D-1, the duelist course and their homeroom teacher, Mr. Pegasus. Now, I said that this was a Quirk Apprehension Test, but, we modified it for the students in the duelist course who do not have quirks."

"If they don't have quirks, then why the hell are they here??!" Bakugo exclaimed.

"It's called the duelist course for a reason, Bakugo," Aizawa replied coolly. "Just because some of them are quirkless, doesn't mean they don't have other abilities."

"Yes, Mr. Aizawa is right," Pegasus agreed. "I can already tell that my students are capable of what is to come of their education."

"Whatever," Bakugo muttered.

"As I was saying before we got off track," Aizawa said. "This test is designed for very specific requirements. Now, which of you in the duelist course have quirks?"

Eight hands raised, some hesitant, others confident.

Bakugo snorted. "'Some' are quirkless?" He said under his breath. "More like nearly the whole class. I'm gonna crush 'em flat!"

Aizawa nodded at the eight quirk users. "Go and stand with Class 1-A." He instructed.

They obeyed, shuffling over to the hero course silently, though some of them inwardly grumbled and complained. Izuku was disappointed to know that Yusaku was one of the quirk handlers. Why couldn't it be Homura with a quirk? He didn't deserve to be quirkless. Izuku looked over at the quirkless duelists. None of them deserved it. It wasn't their fault they didn't have powers.

Bakugo, on the other hand, thought they deserved being quirkless. But what he didn't understand was why some of them were smiling, broad grins on their faces as they looked proudly at the duelists with quirks. "What's there to smile at? You're freaking quirkless. You'll never be as good as any of us." He mumbled.

"Now, it's time to explain the test." Aizawa said.
