There were books and magazines sprawled all over the light blue carpet, posters plastered the boring cream colored wall, the vanity was white with paint splotches all over it, and the messy twin-sized bed in the bottom left corner of the room. Now you may think, that I am just a messy teenager and I don't care about what my room looks like. If you think that, you are wrong. The room I am in is not mine, it is a room in some random house. My parents told me that the owners of the house are on vacation for the week. My mom and dad are having me rob this place. If I disobey them or if I come back empty handed, there will be consequences. I grabbed all the jewelry, money, and anything else that seemed valuable and shoved it in my bag . I walked down the stairs and just as I was about to open the door, a siren went off. I dropped my bag and looked on the wall, there was a small camera. "Sh**!" I cursed. My parents can not find out about this. The police would be here soon, so I ran out the door and headed back to my house. It was late at night and I was wearing black so it was easy to blend in. I made it to my house and rushed inside. My parents were waiting in the kitchen and they did not look happy.
"Where have you been?" my dad yelled.
"You better have gotten some stuff that is valuable!" my mom demanded.
Sh** I thought, I forgot my bag at the house.
"Well did you or not because if you didn't you know there will be consequences!" My dad's voice boomed in the kitchen.
"I...um left it at" I stuttered nervously before I was cut off by my dad.
"YOU LEFT IT!" He shouted as he grabbed his belt.
"You are a disappointment Skyler!" my mom said angrily.
My dad came towards me with his belt. I had many scars and bruises from him all over my body. This would just add some to the collection. I braced myself for the belt to hit my skin, but it didn't. My dad turned towards the window as it shattered. I felt something poke me in my arm and then everything went black.
