I could hear her worried screams as she continued to fall. I saw her try to use her powers, but that just made her fall faster. I don't know how, but I ran over very quickly and caught her before she hit the hard ground.

I didn't even think, it just happened like it was an instinct. That speed was not normal. I have never been able to run that fast before. The weird thing is I never ran over to her. It was as if something controlled me and made me run over there. I'm glad though because it saved Skyler. Without that speed, I could've been too late.
She shivered in my arms, still scared of what had happened. I pushed her long hair out of her face so I could see her perfect face. Neither of us knew what to say, but we didn't need to talk to know what each of us were thinking. I just held her in my arms and she nuzzled her head into my chest, tears falling down her face.

I wiped them off her face.
"Skyler, what's wrong?" I whispered.
"I...I did...it!" she cried out and soaked the front of my shirt from her tears.
"What...did you do?" I asked, scared of the answer.
"I... helped Ashley escape. It's all my fault!" she said softly and then yelled.
"Is that why you ran out of your dad's lab?"
"Yes. He...looked at the cameras. My dad knows that I helped her! How can you even look at me! I assisted the enemy!" You probably hate me!"
I could never hate her! She was so amazing! I loved her. I put my finger over her lips so she would stop saying those negative things.
"Never say that. I could never hate you. I...love you, Skyler. Nothing will ever stop me from loving you. You are the most amazing thing to happen to me. I don't what I would do if I lost you."
Her face went from a frown to a smile almost immediately.
"I love you too, Peter. I've known for a while now. I just didn't know if you felt the same." she replied.
