Chapter.16

//yeah..been a while..//

-Third POV -
Alex and Thomas have been traveling for weeks now,on foot and camping every few days since sometimes they would refuse or be too in the moment to sleep
Especially with this forest.all these pitiful creatures and beings willing to loot and kill them ,just because that's how things are
Thomas and Alex were very happy together,spreading cuddles and kisses when they can
But Alex started to do something ,without Thomas knowing
Alex has been throwing up for some reason away from Thomas when he's resting,it's only been like that for a few days but he doesn't feel good at all
He's hungry but when he eats he throws up ,he says it's a cold but Thomas thinks he's ill
He would carry Alex when he couldn't walk too much
Soon Alex and Thomas reached a mindshaft,looking at each other before walking hand in hand as they have their weapons out of a  sword,Alex holding a lantern while looking at a map soon after, breaking hands with Thomas
Thomas kept him close in Cause he gets hurt,he was even swinging at bugs and bats
Alex chuckles"Thomas,relax we're fine.no one would go in this mineshaft,it's dangerous"
Thomas says"that's why then,it's dangerous and I'm keeping you safe,if we aren't supposed to be here then why are we?"he asked as a follow up,Alex checked the map"there's a portal we need to take and this is one of the only places to have it"Thomas raised an eyebrow"why didn't we make one?"
Alex response"one,takes wayyy too long and a lot of items we don't have"
Thomas shrugged and follows Alex now
Past broken bridges and small areas of ores around them that have been dug out
Soon going down past catacombs to reach a portal glowing a soft orange and purple in-sink  with  each other as if it was a weird kind of painting being constantly mixed but the colors staying the same
Alex was very nervous,guilt getting into his face as he squeezed onto Thomas
Thomas stopped and looked to him,holding him gently"Alex?whats wrong?"he asked with concern
Alex was sobbing,gripping his shirt tightly
Thomas grew more concerned,holding his lover close in his arms while rubbing your side
Alex finally speaks up"I'm so sorry.."he whispered
Thomas looks into his eyes"for what..?"he asked
Alex sobbed as he explained "I've known the quest ..b-but I didn't want to do it but..the reward was so great that I needed it..t-they task was to be a slave to the overlord in there..and have him eat.e-eat..the baby in my belly.."he whispered so quiet he hoped it was quiet enough for Thomas not to hear
But Thomas's eyes were wided,he was shocked and not knowing what to say
"Alex..your..-"
Alex nods and sobs"I-I'm so sorry..!"he cries more
Thomas didn't know what to do"What's the reward..what kind of sick deal did he offer that you wanted so bad.."he says with a small frown
Alex wiped his eyes and hugged himself"I..I dunno.."he says quietly
Thomas frowns more"you don't know?you made it seem like it's worth more then the child that..that you want to get rid of,my child!"he says,moving away a bit
Alex looks down "I can't have a baby..I can't.."
Thomas crossed his arms"I was gonna help you you know,I can take care of it too."
Alex kept his head down
The portal started to glitch

They both looked to it,soon Thomas was being grabbed at by a giant hand,pulled into the portal while screaming for Alex
Alex went to run for the portal but the floor collapsed into an abyss..

Alex fell..
