(Start at the lobby of Inkopolis Tower. ZAKI, MIKADO, and BIITO are hanging out, as are several other kids.)

Zaki-Wow. It's a good thing Keiso and Teruo are back in Splatsville for today and tomorrow. There are so many people here!

Mikado-I haven't seen a backlog like this in years!

(She gets on her tiptoes and tries to see over the crowd.)

Biito-What do you think is taking them so long?

Mikado-Two of the stages that are supposed to be open today lost power. This wait is for turf wars and ranked battles.

Zaki-Did their zapfish go missing?

Mikado-I don't know. All I know is that this is going to be one long wait.

Zaki-(voice-only) Sure, I might have been sick and tired of the power at all these stages going out, but after the Octoling incident, I was going to take a break from being Agent 3. For one day, I was going to be a normal kid who went to ink battles with her friends and didn't have to worry about the fate of the city. All I had to care about was myself.

(That's when a short, young girl, TOMONARI, enters. She sees ZAKI, more particularly her shirt.)

Tomonari-Hey!

(She storms over to ZAKI. People in the crowd get out of her way upon seeing her. Some a bit farther away begin whispering to each other.)

Tomonari-What are you doing with my shirt?

Zaki-I don't get what you're talking about.

Tomonari-My name's Tomonari, and that's my shirt you're wearing!

(ZAKI freezes, a nervous smile on her face.)

Zaki-(voice-only) Like I said, all I had to care about was myself.

(Opening theme.)

Zaki-Your shirt?

Tomonari-Yeah! How many Squidsburg baseball team tank tops do you expect to see in Inkopolis?

Zaki-I don't know. What makes you so sure this is your shirt?

Tomonari-Turn around!

(ZAKI sighs and turns around, revealing a hole on the lower back.)

Tomonari-See?

(She points at the hole.)

Tomonari-There's even a hole on the lower back where I always put my drawing tube!

Mikado-You draw your ink from the bottom of your ink sac?

Tomonari-Well, yeah! Higher ink pressure means it's easier to splat!

Mikado-But doesn't it get messy taking it out?

Tomonari-That's the price I have to pay. I guess there's only one explanation for this.

(She points at ZAKI.)

Tomonari-You stole my shirt!

(ZAKI pushes her away with one hand.)

Zaki-Look here, little lady. This accusation is totally...not right.

Mikado-Wrong?

Zaki-I was going for something more fancy. I mean, how would I steal it? Why would I steal it? Why is this the first conclusion you jump to?

Tomonari-How else would you have gotten it?

Zaki-If you must know, I bought it from a guy on the street.
