Episode Nineteen: Playing Dirty

(Start in Inkopolis Square. ZAKI and TERUO are sitting on a bench together looking at the sky.)

Teruo-So the next Splatfest is in a week.

Zaki-Yep.

Teruo-You excited?

Zaki-I guess.

(TERUO looks at ZAKI.)

Teruo-You seem a bit out of it.

Zaki-Me? Out of it? No. I'm fine.

Teruo-No, you're not. If you were acting like your normal, Zaki-ish self, our conversation would be like "So the next Splatfest is in a week." "Indeed it is, my roller gal friend." "You excited?" "You bet I am! I can't wait to run Team Marie into the ground!" "No way! Team Marie is coming out on top, just like they did last month and the month before that. I remember our last victory as if it was yesterday." But that's not how this conversation's going. You're just like "Yep." "I guess."

Zaki-You don't know what "Zaki-ish" is like. Sometimes I get sad. Like any other person.

Teruo-Well, let me make you un-sad. Tell me what's on your mind.

Zaki-A lot.

Teruo-Like what?

Zaki-You wouldn't understand.

Teruo-I see you getting all Nemo on me.

(She leans towards ZAKI and stares at her with a wide smile on her face.)

Teruo-Now, come on. Just tell me. It's not that hard.

(BIITO and KEISO walk up behind them.)

Biito-You don't want to pry Zaki.

(TERUO looks up.)

Biito-You wouldn't like her when she's been pried.

(TERUO pouts and crosses her arms.)

Teruo-Alright, fine.

Zaki-Thanks for bailing me out, bro.

Keiso-We better head to the tower before the line gets too long. You know how it gets in the week leading up to Splatfest.

(ZAKI and TERUO get up, and they begin walking towards Inkopolis Tower.)

Biito-No, I don't. How does it get?

Keiso-Pretty bad. This is only the beginning, too. Just wait until it finally gets to be the big day.

(Opening theme. Cut to the waiting plaza. TERUO, BIITO, and KEISO are waiting together. ZAKI comes in with a 96 Gal.)

Teruo-Whoaaaaaaaa. What is that?

Zaki-It's called the 96 Gal. There was a sale. I couldn't resist.

Biito-I thought you swore off the entire line of Gals.

Teruo-Except for the Roller Gal, of course.

Zaki-It's a different number. Maybe it'll be a different experience.

(Cut to Walleye Warehouse. CALLIE and MARIE are commentating.)

Callie-It's going down for real at Walleye Warehouse today.

Marie-Could you never make that reference again? Team colors are pink and teal, BT-dubs.

(ZAKI and TERUO are teal. BIITO and KEISO are pink.)

Marie-Looks like Zaki has a new weapon.

Callie-Again? Why can't she just pick one and stick with it?

Marie-(booth) She's new. Let her experiment.
