Episode Twenty-Six: Splatfest!

(Start in Inkopolis Square. There are a lot of kids gathered in the square, including ZAKI, MIKADO, KEISO, TERUO, and BIITO. CALLIE and MARIE are standing on a stage in front of Inkopolis Tower.)

Callie-Hello there, squids and kids! How are y'all doing today?!

(Everyone cheers.)

Marie-I bet you're wondering why we're all gathered here today. Oh, who am I kidding? Of course you're not. It's Splatfest day!

(More cheering from the audience.)

Callie-Now, who out here has voted for the good team this time around?

(People from both sides begin cheering.)

Callie-I was talking about my team.

(The people in purple Team Callie shirts, including MIKADO and BIITO, begin cheering.)

Zaki/Biito-I love you, Callie!

Biito-Wait, what?

Marie-And who here thinks Team Marie is going to sweep up another victory?

(The people in green Team Marie shirts, including KEISO and TERUO, begin cheering.)

Marie-You made the right choice.

Callie-Now, what are we waiting for? Let the games begin!

("Calamari Inkantation" begins playing in the background. CALLIE and MARIE begin singing. Meanwhile, ZAKI is in the crowd clutching her head.)

Zaki-Ugh! What is this?

Mikado-They always sing a few songs before the stages open. It'll only be, like, 15 minutes.

Zaki-Why can't we just start battling already? My head feels like it's going to explode with all this noise!

Mikado-It'll be over before you know it, Zaki. Just chill.

Zaki-Just chill.

(She goes limp. Everyone around her notices.)

Mikado-Oh no.

(She picks ZAKI up and runs off. Opening theme. Cut to the alley near Inkopolis Tower. There is still music playing. ZAKI is leaning unconscious against a wall while MIKADO watches. ZAKI's eyes slowly flutter open.)

Mikado-Zaki! Thank goodness you're awake! What happened back there?

Zaki-I dunno. I guess I had a little sensory overload.

Mikado-Sensory overload? You passed out! How are you going to battle if you can't keep yourself awake for fifteen minutes?

(ZAKI tries to get back up on her feet, but she has a little trouble.)

Zaki-I'm going to be fine, Mikado. Don't worry about me. I'm Agent 3, remember? I can take on anything.

Mikado-If you insist.

(She puts her arm around ZAKI's shoulder and leads her out of the alley.)

Mikado-You better not do that again, okay?

Zaki-I'll try.

(Cut to the lobby. ZAKI, MIKADO, KEISO, TERUO, and BIITO are all holding their weapons.)

Teruo-It's Splatfest, I got my Kraken roller, and it's time to party.

Keiso-I picked out my brand-new Kelp Charger just for this occasion. That survivability record of nine is as good as mine.

Biito-Got my trusty Jet Squelcher. It hasn't let me down before.

Mikado-It's been a while since I've used a Splattershot, but I'm sure it'll come through for me.
