*Adam/Sky's POV*

I walked down the rainy street. I pulled the collar of my coat up a little more, shivering.
"Mommy, mommy, look!! That's Sky!!" A little girl passing by pointed at me. She pulled away from her mom and ran up to me.
"Oh, sweetie, I don't-"
"It's ok ma'am, I don't mind." I said kindly. I knelt down in front of the little girl. She looked about 5, wearing a bright butter raincoat.
"Hi, I'm Sky. What's your name?"
"I'm Amber! But everyone calls me Spark!"((See what I did there? :3))
"Well, would you like a signature?"
"YESH YESH YESH!!!"
"Here..." I pulled out a little notepad, quickly scrawling out my signature. I plucked it off, and placed it in the kid's tiny hands.
"TANK CHU SO MUCH!! KAZUTO AND DWAGON WILL BE SO EXCITED!!!"((Luv meh.))
She ran back to her mother, smiling widely.
I smiled too, knowing I could make a little kid so happy. Even in this weather. I continued walking, thinking about random things. I passed a sheltered alley, just glancing over. I managed to make out the silhouette of a person. I stopped, looking closer. A kid, around 14, 15, was huddled against a trash can. He had his arms wrapped around himself, shivering madly.
"Hello?"
Instantly, a pair of piercing emerald eyes shot open. They stared at me in terror.
"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay, I'm not gonna hurt you!" I cooed gently. The brilliant eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Are ya gonna let me help?" He seemed thoughtful, before nodding slowly.
"Okay, now, calm down." I walked over pulling out a thin blanket I had been taking home. His eyes widened in terror again.
"No, no, no, no, I'm just trying to keep you warm!" I said, pulling back a bit. He relaxed again, slowly. I came over, scooping him up. He clung to my coat, turning those bright eyes up at me. I carried him back to my apartment, setting the now soaked boy on the couch. I got a towel, bringing it over to him. He started to dry himself, chocolate hair spiking as he tussled it.
"So, why were you out there, in an alley?" I had a feeling I struck a nerve when he froze.
"If you don't wanna talk about, that's fine!! I'm just naturally curious..."
He got up, and walked over to my dripping raincoat. He reached into the pocket and pulled out my notepad and pen.
How did he...
Sitting back down, he scrawled a message out.
'I'm a mute.'
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I didn't know!!"
'It's okay.'
"So...let's start with your name."
'I don't remember my name...'
"Oh, well, my name is Adam, but call me Sky."
'Wait, do you have a YouTube channel?'
"Yeah, Skydoesminecraft."
'I love your commentary!' He wrote messily, the corners of his mouth turning upward.
"Thanks! So, umm, what were you doing in that alley?" He sighed face falling yet again.
'My parents were killed when I was 3 in a robbery. I lost my voice after that. I was sent to an orphanage until I was 10, then I was put in boarding school. I was already bullied enough, but it got even worse. They did mental and physical damage. That started about 4 years ago. Last night, I ran away.'
I sat in shocked silence. But I understood the kid. I, myself, had a pretty rough past. But look where I was now! Five million subscribers!
"I'm so sorry. I understand. I had a pretty rough past as well..."
'Thank you for keeping me safe, but...I think I should go.'
"No! You are NOT going back out into the rain! At least stay here for the night!"
He sighed. 'Fine.'
"Good." I smiled. Reaching over, I touched his shoulder. Since his shirt was ripped to shreds, I touched the exposed skin. It was ice cold.
"My god, where were you?! The subarctic?! You're freezing!"((It's a place!!))
I paused.
"Subarctic...that's a good name..." His eyes narrowed.
'No...it's doesn't quite fit...subzero would work better.'
"Subzero...that's even better! SubZero!" I tested the name. His face split into a grin. He nodded vigorously.
"Awesome. Okay, I'm gonna go make dinner. You warm up, Sub."
'Sub?'
"Yea, ya know. Sub, SubZero?"
'Oh, I get it! Okay.' He placed the notepad on the coffee table, sitting back into the blanket.
