"I've had this for a while now. I don't know why but when I was getting a new phone, I felt as though I should keep this one. I mean, the stuff on here was so unique and strange, I just couldn't get rid of it" Spencer said calmly. He stared at the antique phone that laid in his hand, still confused by the aura that emitted from the phone; mysterious, ominous, and overall terrifying to any person except Spencer. The worn case now looked almost grey, and the sign had begun to fade. The phone itself seemed to have been dead for such a long time, that it was beyond repair, yet here it still worked, here it still lit up at the press of a button. This was what Spencer believed the reason was for him keeping it all this time, as it surely couldn't have been that he had planned for this to happen.
He stood there, wondering about it, until Questioner broke him from his trance, "May we see this 'confession,' then?" He asked politely, eyeing the phone and sensing the answers he wanted from it. Spencer gladly handed it over, relieved that he no longer needed to have this. After remembering about what it said, who would want to keep it for such a long time? It would drive you mad, surely. Spencer kept these justifying thoughts into his head, to reason with his subconscious, who still seemed reluctant to see it fall into Questioner's hand.
Questioner pressed the power, and the screen woke up with life, though still very dim. The battery was surprisingly well looked-after, and still had enough charge for him to search through to find some leads. Spencer finally spoke up, telling them where to go.
"It had been such a long time since they had messaged me about anything related to that, so, to make sure I didn't lose any of it, I took screenshots of the conversation. You should hopefully find them in my gallery." He said, leading them to the truth they begged for. Questioner immediately scanned through the phone and found the gallery of solutions. He pushed the icon and looked through, trying to find the screenshot he was looking for.
And there, at the end of the page, were several screenshots of messages that showed Project's stories; their nightmares, their dreams, their hopes and their weaknesses. Yet all was written in such a convoluted way that it could take months until someone finally saw the true confession.
But luckily these two had since became professionals at uncovering what was once hidden.
Questioner looked at every photo, every fragment, that he could find of Project. Each holding more and more information than the last, yet getting increasingly difficult to tell what was information and what were red herrings to filter out those who wouldn't know or understand what they were being told. Questioner kept searching, though, refusing to miss any key points that could be hidden beneath the metaphorical speech of Project. Though Spencer had only heard certain dots of information, the picture was slowly becoming slightly clearer. The messages themselves all seemed like riddles all forming one large story, yet refusing to allow you to see the full picture, the ending, the final bow. This was increasingly aggravating to Questioner, who got more and more impatient with these confusing conundrums.
Yet he soon stumbled upon the information he would need. However upon reading it, he wasn't sure if he wanted it...
He read each message that Project and Spencer sent each other, in a more chilling voice than before:
"Hey, I have a question, and you don't have to reply if you don't want to." Asked Project.
"Sure, what's up?" Replied Spencer. The conversation going back and forth between them.
"Do you really think that I'm a Mystery?" Questioner noted the weird way of capitalising "Mystery", feeling as though this might be some type of code.
"Well, we all have our secrets, I was just wondering why you have so many, and a lot of us actually think that."
"Okay, I just wanted to make sure. If you want, I can answer some questions now, just to pass the time. And I assure you that I'll be 100% honest with the answers I give."
