Why did this take me like 2 months to publish??

The first day wasn't that bad. Yep! That's right! I'm back in school! Today was the first day and I took it well. I did. Logan did too. Roman and Virgil, not so much.

Middle school is going pretty well for me and Logan. All the teachers seem nice so far. Logan and I have almost all of our classes together. The only class we don't have is math and social studies. Logan is too smart for me so he was put in the better math class. I am smart in English so Logan and I have the same English class

Science class is the most fun class for me. Roman actually has all classes with me. Even homeroom. Logan almost asked to be moved a class up when he found out Roman was in the same class as him. But anyways, SCIENCE!

The teacher, Mr. Turner, says that we will have future projects and most likely be with groups of twos or threes. If we have threes, it's obviously the trio, but if it's twos, I will most likely choose Logan. Roman is a fun partner, and I will choose him if it's a really fun project, but Logan is really smart and his eyes light up whenever the teacher talks about all the projects we will have. They kind of sparkle when he smiles too. This is why I'm in a good English class, I have a lot of description.

Roman and I will be partners if there's a fun project, like projects that involve a lot of art. Roman is amazing at art! Roman and I are more like the fun duo!

Ok ok, now the bad stuff that happens!! Long story short, one of the teachers recognized Roman because he once accidentally dented their car and ran away. He dented the car with rollerblades. Don't ask me how. The teacher knew because he saw Roman riding around on his rollerblades and the next day saw his car dented. He fit the pieces into the puzzle quickly.

The teacher kept giving him glares, and when he pulled out the rules and disciplines, especially disciplines, he kept glancing at Roman and would make the occasional "ahem" noise. Roman would always look behind him and keep his head low.

Oh! And Virgil! He did not take the day well... at all... It's not like he hit a kid or yelled at a teacher, he just didn't talk at all or listen to anyone or anything.

Apparently the teacher called Thomas today and told him about Virgil's quiet behavior. It's all Thomas would tell me about the call, but he told me afterwards that Virgil wasn't in trouble. Thomas also told me that Virgil's old friend Damien tried to kiss up to him and tried to become friends again. Luckily, Virgil's smarter than he looks.

Again, didn't hit anybody. But when Virgil came home, he dropped his book bag in front of the door and ran into the kitchen to grab a tub of ice cream. He ran into the living room and jumped onto the couch, watching Netflix with me. *Cough* Parks and Rec...

"I hate everybody! I hate school! I hate being the only person I know be there! I want you to come back to school! I hate my life right now!," he complained.
I lightly patted his back, "Just he thankful you don't have to take a test next week. Middle sucks when you don't have a free day like you're use to."

Virgil groaned and rolled off the couch, leaving the tub of ice cream on the cushion.

"Middle school is better than being lonely and already having two packets of homework due tomorrow!," he spoke with his face in the floor.

He suddenly looked up and jumped off the floor.

"That's it, I'm going to throw my book bag out the door and go work at McDonald's," he said while running to the kitchen.
I sighed, "Thomas paid money for your stuff Virgil!"
"Then I'll sell it on EBay and laugh at anyone who buys a book bag with packets full of math and sh-"
"WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT THE LANGUAGE!"

Virgil groaned and sunk down to the floor.

"M sr...y," he mumbled.
"What was that?" I questioned.
"M sr...y!," he said a little louder.
"I can't understand you when you pout like that-"
"I'm sorry jeez! You can't put me under pressure like this!"

I giggled at his attitude as the door opened.

"Hey guys! How was the first day of school?" Thomas asked as he carried in bags of groceries.
"Good!," I said, getting up to help him.
"Thanks Pat, how about you Virge?" Thomas looked over to my brother, who had started eating the tub of ice cream.
"How do you say a burning trash can in the nicest way?" Virgil said with the his mouth full of ice cream.

Thomas chuckled and shook his head, "You don't."
"He doesn't mean it Thomas-"
"I do-"
"-he just had a rough day of school."

Virgil groaned and stood up.

"I swear, if I go back to that torture chamber called a classroom ever again then I'll build a rocket just to launch my school supplies into outer space! Patton, since you're in an actual science class, you're helping me make it work. Call Logan if you need to because he's smart and I swear if Roman comes with him, I'll launch him into the freaking Milky Way!"

I snickered as I put away the remaining groceries.

This has been a fun summer. I'm sad that it had to end. It seemed so short but so long at the same time. Like the chapters in a story (😏). But at the same time, I'm glad we all can just get back to school. No more crazy adventures. No more trips that can get dangerous quickly. I like the school year. Except for the homework, tests, and finals. I think I'll need major Logan help for that.

Well journal, thanks for listening to my bestest and most awesomest and most interestingest summer yet!
