This takes place a week before 4th of July. Soooo.. time skip haha

"Ooh! Here are some purple and gold ones!," I said as we walked down an aisle of fireworks.

We decided to go shopping for fireworks for the 4th of July party we are going to have next week. Virgil and I got to pick out the kinds of fireworks (With Thomas' approval) and I also suggested getting glow sticks. Thomas was in the other aisle getting Pop-Its and sparklers.

"Hey! Lighters!," Virgil said as he grabbed two.

Virgil was also cleared completely so he was aloud to talk normally again.

"No! No lighters!," I screeched, yanking the lighters from his hands and putting them back.
"We're here to pick out fireworks, not lighters!"

Virgil frowned as we continued looking through the fireworks. I found a couple more colors, and even a full rainbow one, walked over to the next aisle.

"Thomas, I found some more!," I said as I dumped them into the cart.
"Nice," Thomas chirped. "I think that this should be enough. Do you think 87 fireworks would be enough? Don't forget that we've also got Logan's and Roman's fireworks."

I thought for a minute. I looked around to see if I wanted to add anymore fireworks, when something else crossed my mind.

"Uh... where'd Virgil go?" I asked.

Thomas looked behind him and shrugged. I walked over to the other aisle where I was and I saw Virgil looking through a crate. Not just a crate, but a crate of lighters. My eyes widened as I ran over to him.

"Virgil! No lighters! I specifically said, no lighters!!"

I knocked the lighter he had out of his hand and dragged him away from the crate and into the aisle with Thomas.

"Patttoooonnnnn!!! Why'd you have to drag me away from therreeee!!," Virgil complained.
"Because I'm not going to let you burn down the store by 'accidentally' setting off all the fireworks."
Thomas looked at us with concern, "What's with burning down the store?"

I shook my head, "Nothing. I already talked to him about it."
Thomas followed us with the cart as we walked down to pay, worry in his voice, "So you were talking about burning down the store?"
Virgil turned around and walked backwards as he spoke, "Patton said he was gonna use the lighters to set off all the fireworks-"
"No I didn't!"

Thomas chuckled as we stopped by a self-checkout. Virgil handed Thomas the items to scan while I put them in the baggies! While I put fireworks and Pop-Its in the bags, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I took it out to see that Roman texted me.

'Call me'

I raised my eyebrow at the small text and replied with..

'•••'
'Not like that kind of "Call me" you dork! I just want to talk!!'

I giggled at the text and quickly pressed to call.

'Hey Patton!'

"Hiya Roman!," I said as I put the phone on my shoulder and held it with my ear to continue bagging.

'Sooo do you know what time you want us to be over at your guys' house next week?'

"Ummm... I don't know. But you should come early so we can hang out before the fireworks."

'Actually, instead of that idea.. how about Logan and I stay the night at your house the day before so my parents won't have to go there early?'

"Oh.. uhh... let me ask Thomas."

I finished bagging the last of the glow sticks and put the bag in the cart while Thomas paid.

"Hey Thomas? Can Roman and Logan spend the night the night before our party?"
Thomas answered without looking at me, "Yea sure, I just need their parents to call me so I have parent permission."
"Ok!"

I turned back to the phone and told Roman.

'Cool! I'll have mom or dad call him sometime tomorrow or something. Just text me his phone number and I'll do that.'

"Okay, I'll text you it later. Byeeeee."

'Byeeee Patttoooonnnn-"

I hung up on him before he finished whatever rant he was going to go on. I got a text not two seconds later.

'Rude'

I giggled at the text and put my phone away.

"Hey Thomas, do you think we can paint our faces for the party?" I asked. "Like a flag or fireworks?"
"As long as an adult does it."
"Hey Thomas? Do you think I could be in charge of lighting the fireworks?" Virgil asked as he pulled yet another lighter from his hoodie pocket.

"Nooo no no!," Thomas screeched as he grabbed the lighter from Virgil and put it on the shelf.
"Where do you keep getting them from?!"

I yelled as I grabbed one that was popping out from his back pocket.

"No lighters!"

Virgil pouted as I grabbed his hand and walked over to the front to wait for Thomas to finish paying.

"I never get to have my fun," Virgil whined as he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.
"Well that's because your view of 'fun' is to play with lighters and run with scissors. But that's not fun when the scissors end up stuck on your wall!," I told him.
"I said I was sorry-"
"Well sorry doesn't save my Grumpy Cat poster!"

We stayed leaning against the wall for awhile until Thomas came over to us with the cart full of bags.

"We ready to go?" Thomas asked. "The sooner we get home, the sooner we can have Lasagna!"

I jumped up and Virgil slowly followed us as we walked towards the front doors. But before we walked out of the doors, the security thingies went off. It was soo LOUD! I had to cover my ears as I yelled.

"VIRGIL!! WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT THE LIGHTERS!!"

I'm also going to be doing another time skip to when Logan and Roman go to their house to spend the night. So prepare for that in the next chapter! Also, sorry if this one was terrible haha.
