Chapter 7- Friends or Not?

~Cece's POV~

I woke up the next morning still confused about last night. I put it aside and went into the bathroom. I decided I looked decent so I went downstairs, Hayes was the only one down there.

"Good morning" I said to Hayes as I walked in.

He smiled and replied, "good morning"

I sat down next to Hayes and ate my cereal. He seemed very happy today, I wonder why?

"So Cece, you want to come to the park today to meet my friends?" He asked me.

"Sure!"

"Ok cool. We're leaving the house at 11:45 so we can be there around 12. We're going to ride our penny boards there."

"Ok sounds good."

I gave him a quick hug and ran upstairs. I watched him from the stairs. He just sat there with the biggest smile on his face. What's up with him? I decided to let it go for now and get ready.

I put on some basketball shorts that Hayes gave me and my old basketball tank from NY, Plus I put my hair in a high pony. When I walked out of my room and heard whistling. I turned around and saw Hayes staring at me. I blushed and smiled.

"You know Hayes, it's not nice to stare."

He rolled his eyes and went inside his room, I followed. His room was a mess. There was clothes on the floor in big piles and everything was unorganized. After about 5 minutes he was ready. He sat down next to me on his bed and tackled me over. His face was next to mine but we were just friends, I can't kiss him again. I rolled over so he was on the bottom and got up and ran.

"Ooo I'm gonna get you" he called after me.

"In your dreams Grier." I yelled back at him

I noticed it was 11:50 so we had to go. I grabbed my penny board and ran out the door. I rode for about a minute before I heard him behind me.

"Catch up slow poke, I have no idea where I'm going." I called back to him.

He caught up and showed me the way. We were the last ones there, figures. As we walked up Hayes looked at me, I guess I looked nervous because I definitely was nervous.

"You ready?" He asked me

"Yes, let's go!" I said grabbing his hand and running towards the courts. We got to the courts and couldn't stop laughing. Everyone just looked at us. When we were done laughing Hayes introduced me.

"Everyone, this is Cecilia my best friend."

"Actually I would like to be called Cece" I said glaring at Hayes.

"Oh yeah. Sorry."

He introduces 5 people to me. Maria, Sky, Chris, Brian and Matt. Matt was kinda cute, he had brown hair and brown eyes. I waved to all of them and we decided to start the game. The team captains were Hayes and Matt. Matt won the coin toss so he went first.

"Cece"

He picked me first? I was the new girl, he had no idea if I could even play. Weird. Plus I kinda wanted to be on Hayes team. I looked at Hayes and he looked a little disappointed but only I would be able to tell. I walked over next to Matt and smiled at him.

After all the teams were done this is how it turned out.
