Chapter 12

(Zuzanna)

We came back from the park around 8pm because Millie saw Will on the way home and she "had" to talk to him or else she would've ignored us for the rest of the night. Steve didn't really talk much that day at all We walked into my house Nat and Clint were there Nat looked at me then the rest of the group. She quickly nodded in my direction then rushed up stairs without saying anything Clint at her heels. We weren't really talking anymore because she saw me kiss Bucky and she tried to prevent that from happening. Now she just gave me looks sometimes she would start a conversation but not very often.
"Okay guys are sleeping downstairs me and Millie are upstairs. No exceptions." I told them. I looked at Bucky he gave me a sweet smile but I realised it was a trick and before I realised I had pillows thrown at me. Soon afterwards everyone joined in except from Noah he stood awkwardly in the corner looking at us.
"I'll get the mattresses." I gasped .
"I'll help." Noah quickly paced after me I looked back at Bucky and Steve they were both giving Noah dirty looks, I wasn't surprised.

I was looking around in the spare room Noah was looking on the top shelves because i'm short.
"Okay Zuzanna found 2 mattresses can someone sleep on the couch? There's not another one here." Noah asked
"Yeah that's fine, You're sleeping on the couch. I'll bring the pillows and blankets."
We walked into the living room with all the stuff and I helped set everything up. From time to time there was a pillow thrown and some procrastination but we managed somehow. I went upstairs into my bedroom soon after I heard footsteps after me. Noah came in my door and flopped onto my bed, he looked at me for a second then grinned. He stood up without a word and put his arm around me I quickly pushed him away.
"What are you doing Noah?" My voice raised.
"Oh nothing, it's just that you mean the world to me." He pinned me to the wall.
"I love you Zu I really do." He came in closer and kissed me, I quickly registered what was going on and pushed him away.
"What the hell Noah?!" I looked at him.
"I just thought-"
"Then you thought wrong! I have the most amazing boyfriend ever!" I said strongly.
"I think it's best you leave." I told him not looking him in the eye. He sighed then sadly walked downstairs I quickly went down after him. He picked up his stuff then walked to his aunts house. I sighed and put my head in my hands. Bucky came and sat next to me he pulled me into a hug.
"Zu what happened?" He asked confused.
"Well..." There was a slight pause. "Noah kinda kissed me." I looked into his eyes there was anger, he stood up and headed for the door.
"Buck please don't kill him!" I called after him.
"I'll try!" He yelled back. I looked back at Millie and Steve.
"He's gonna murder him isn't he?" They both nodded, I sighed and ran after Bucky.
I burst through the front door to find Bucky talking to Noah then Bucky punched him in the face.
"James what the hell?" I exclaimed.
"He deserved it ,nobody kisses my girl." I felt myself blush.
"Huh you're cute when you blush. C'mon let's go." Bucky smiled he took my hand
"I love you."
"I love you too Zu." He kissed me and we walked back to my house.

"Hey cuties!" Millie grinned as we walked through the door.
"Hey you two." Millie gave me a what happened look.
"I'll tell you later" I mouthed. We all sat down on the mattresses and this time Steve grabbed the remote first.
"Steve please can I have the remote?" She made her best puppy eyes she could and Steve eventually gave in.
"Fine!" He passed her the remote he rolled his eyes at her.
"I knew I'd get the remote." She smiled happily.
"Could you blame me though?" He asked Buck. Millie smiled a blush forming on her cheeks. Millie quickly looked at Steve then back to the tv. I grinned at Millie and turned my attention to Steve.
"Buck can I talk to you quickly?" He gestured his head towards me Bucky looked at me I knew Steve was gonna ask about my dad so I just nodded my head approvingly. God how I miss him. His Jokes. I tried to hold back the tears. Millie came and hugged me.
"I know you miss him. If you need to talk to anyone i'm always nearby." She smiled.
"This is why you're my best friend." I grinned at her she picked up a pillow and threw it directly at my face.
"You're a five year old Millie." I kicked her.
"You're so boring." She laughed. I picked up the pillow she threw at me and threw it back at her and that's how another war broke out.

(Millie)

Zuzanna and I were in her room, in our pajamas. We had tried to get to sleep but Bucky and Steve were downstairs, being very loud. We had decided it would just be easier for us to mess about so we did. We had sad romance movies on the tv while we filled out quizzes on different websites. I was doing some sort of 'Future life,' quiz when one of the questions were "Your dream man,". The options were genuinely my boyfriend, Will and Steven Rogers and that's when I realised. "I'm in love with Steve!" I exclaimed, sitting up from lying on Zuzanna's bed. Zuzanna looked over at me as if I've stated the most obvious thing in the world.
"No shit sherlock," She giggled. "Now you need to break up with Will," She ordered so I did, I picked up my phone, calling him. I've learnt from the last time I broke up with him, those bruises were there for weeks.
I heard it ring out for a bit until Will picked up.
"Hey baby girl," He said.
"I'm breaking up with you," I stated
"What? Why? Bet it's because of Steve,"
"Well yes,that is partly the reason,"
"No that is the reason,"
"No. I'm breaking up with you because you've made me feel so bad about myself, not to mention the amounts of times you have or tried to physically hurt me,"
"Bullshit. You're breaking up with me because of Steve,"
"Am not,"
"Are to," Now this went on for some time, going back and forth constantly like a ping pong match. I finally snapped.
"You know what? I AM IN LOVE WITH STEVE?" I shouted into the phone before hanging up. Zuzanna gave me a surprised look.
"Don't need to worry about telling him, I think Steve heard you loud and clear, in fact here he comes now," Zuzanna said as there was a knock on the door before Bucky walked in, Steve close behind.
"Millie. We need to talk now," He announced, looking me straight in the eye. I could feel my heart speed up.
"Yes, I suppose we do," I agreed, looking at him, trying not to show how nervous I was.
Zuzanna started to leave. She was about to walk down the stairs when she turned around.
"Bucky," She snapped.
"This is gonna be interesting," He said to his girlfriend.
"James Buchanan Barnes, if you come with me, I will give you ice cream," Zuzanna sighed.
"And a kiss?" He asked hopefully. When she nodded, Bucky was out the room like a puppy wanting food. Soon it was just me and Steve. He leaned against a desk chair.
"So you're in love with me?" He asked. I didn't say anything. I just stared at the floor. It had suddenly become extremely interesting. "Why now? After everything?" He asked.
"I've always been in love with you just I never thought you liked me. I saw you as 'Steve Rogers, the guy every girl was in love with' or 'Peter's friend,'. I never thought you cared about me. And then you started talking to me but I was with Will and I was with Will because I knew I had no chance with you," I exclaimed.
"What do you mean? You had chance," He said.
"No. No I didn't Steve. Because you're you and I'm me. You had girls like Sharron just throwing herself at you. You see, there's no way I could possibly compete with her," I snapped.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrow.
"It means I wasn't pretty enough for you. You got attractive one summer and you could get any girl you wanted so you had eyes for the pretty ones. The ones all the others boys liked,"
"You're pretty,"
"Like you noticed!"
"Millie. I have loved you since our first year. Not once did you notice it," he said, taking a step closer. "And all this about you not being pretty is a huge lie. You're the prettiest girl I know," he said, cupping my cheeks. "And I want to know if you would be my girlfriend?" He asked, leaning down. I met him halfway, pressing my lips to his. I could feel him smile which made me smile.
"I'd love to be your girlfriend," I told him making Steve smile and kiss me again.

(A/N: Hey fam. We have finally given in and updated (more like I stopped procrastinating) but we have a drams in Zu's bit and I think we can all agree Steve got what he deserved. Can't say when the next chapter is either but we may be getting school content cos we stan education.
