U45: Book 1 and 2

Season 1 Episode 3 (June 16, 2018)

This episode starts with a playback of the second episode. Included in the footage is the change in grading and who was chosen to be the visual center of their theme song which is Trainee Kim Jun Myeon (김준면).

The contestants are gathered in a function room. Upon entering, some of them noticed a wall covered by a curtain and a lottery ball-type machine.

After being settled, Representative Park enters and informs them of their next mission: the Group Battle. Similar to the Produce 101 format, the contestants will be divided into groups and two of them will have a song battle. She tells them that the chosen visual center, Trainee Kim Jun Myeon (김준면) has the power to choose his teammates first. Representative Park tells him that he can only choose 4 fellow contestants. Soon after, the lottery machine selects Trainees Lee Dae Hwi (이대휘), Kim Ye Rim (김예림), Byun Baek Hyun (변백현), Park Chae Young (박채영), Kang Daniel (강다니엘), Yoo Jung Yeon (유정연), and Jennie Kim (젠니 킴) to choose their teammates too. The 5 contestants who were not chosen will automatically be the 9th team. Here are their team designations:

Soon after, Representative Park reveals the songs for battle:

Then, she asks the 8 contestants who chose their teams and Trainee Kim Seok Jin (김석진) (Team Captain of Team 9) to take part in the Race for the Wall of Songs. She tells them that the first one who will put the flag on its designated place wins and receives the power to choose their opponent. Here are the contestants who received that prestigious advantage:
