U45: Book 1 and 2

Season 1 Episode 9 (July 28, 2018)

This episode starts with a playback of the previous episode where the Third Ranking Announcement was shown. Included in the footage is their decisions on what song will they perform in the Debut Song Evaluation.

Then, the 45 contestants perform their theme song Can It Be Me for the last time in the show. Trainee Kim Jun Myeon (김준면) takes the center position.

After, the mentors give their messages to the contestants. Then, the contestants look at their audition videos and read the letters they have written in the last 11 weeks which inspired them to do their best to redebut.

Soon after, the contestants' preparation for the upcoming evaluation is shown.

Then, Representative Sandara Park unveils the name of the project co-ed group. The group will be named as Equistal (에퀴스탈) which will promote for a year and a half under The G Entertainment (더 지 엔터테인먼트), a subsidiary of YG Entertainment.

The first song is performed, New York Blues. Black Eyed Pilseung (블락아이드필승) produced the song for the show. In the performance, Trainee Park Ji Hoon (박지훈) takes the center position.

After the performance, Representative Park reveals the trainees ranked from 8th to 11th place with no particular order. These are:

• Do Kyung Soo (도경수)
• Jeon Jeong Guk (전정국)
• Kim Ye Rim (김예림)
• Park Ji Hyo (박지효)

After doing the announcement, the second performance is conducted. The song Cherish of Rose was written by J.Y. Park. Trainee Minatozaki Sana (미나토자키 사나) (みなとざきさな) takes the center position.

Soon after, the trainees prepare for the Final Ranking Announcement which will determine if they will redebut or not.

Before doing so, Representative Park states that the total number of votes from Week 1 until Week 9 will determine who will get the chance to redebut.

Now, she starts announcing the Top 9 which will be part of Equistal. Trainees Jeon Jeong Guk, Park Ji Hoon, Ong Seong Woo, Bae Ju Hyun, Lalisa Manoban, and Kim Jun Myeon take 8th to 2nd places respectively.

Then, the candidates for the center position are revealed. They are Trainees Chou Tzuyu (저우쯔위) and Lai Guan Lin (라이관린) which are both non-Korean. In the end, it was Trainee Chou Tzuyu who took 1st place.

After, the candidates for the 9th place are unveiled. They are Trainees Kim Ji Soo, Park Ji Hyo, Do Kyung Soo, and Kim Ye Rim. Trainee Park Ji Hyo (박지효) is saved from elimination after getting 9th place.

Soon after, Representative Park thanks the National Producers for making the show an immense success. It is still uncertain if a second season will push through.

The eliminated contestants congratulate the Top 9 for getting the chance to redebut.
