After the immense success of the first season of U45 (유포티파이브), the management of the show decided to renew it for a second season. This time, it will feature an all-female line-up of contestants.
There are some changes to the format of the show. Instead of just 9 episodes, there will be 11 episodes.
The management announced that it will premiere on November 10, 2018 at 11PM KST on SBS.
The contestants were announced on November 3, 2018. They are:
• gugudan (구구단)
• fromis_9 (프로미스나인)
• Weki Meki (위키미키)
• MOMOLAND (모모랜드)
• PRISTIN (프리스틴)
Soon after, other cast members were announced. They are:
• Lee Min Ho (이민호) - Representative of the National Producers
• Bae Suzy (배수지) - Vocal mentor
• Park Jin Young (박진영) aka Kahi (카희) - Vocal mentor
• Cheetah (치타) - Rap mentor
• Soyou (소유) - Choreography mentor
Before the premiere of the show, the contestants performed their theme song on SBS' Inkigayo (인키가요) which is titled as Please Be Me. Trainee Zhou Jieqiong (주결경) (周杰穷) of Pledis Entertainment (플레디스 엔터테인먼트) was the center of the performance.
