Chapter Eight

"Je-mma?"

The world blurred a bit, but she finally opened her eyes. She immediately recalled everything that had happened before, from Skye in shock to passing out after finding out Fitz didn't remember the past two months.

To her surprise, the first thing she saw was Fitz. He was sitting in a wheelchair with a look of worry on his face. Doctor Elms stood behind him with a small smile.

"He was worried when I told him you passed out, and he's in quite good shape, so I decided I'd let him come see you."

"Thank you, Gillian."

"You're very welcome. Are you feeling alright?"

"I'm.. Fine, I guess. I do have a headache though." Gillian nodded.

"I'll go get some Ibuprofen. Your team is with Doctor Hirsch right now. This'll be tough for them." She left the room, leaving Fitz and Simmons alone. It was the first time Jemma realized his broken arm was now in a hard cast.

"How is your arm, Fitz?"

"G-good... right n-now."

"That's good. So, that girl that walked in when you were in your room, you don't remember her at all?"

"The girl with the r-red shirt? N-no. Does s-she know me?" Simmons weakened at the thoughts of how he had forgotten.

"Yes, Fitz. Her name is Skye. Now, this may be, seriously crazy, but after you got in the accident, the coma took away two months of your life." Fitz paled a little and looked down.

"It's... Not c-crazy. I.. Believe you. The last thing... I re-remember.. is falling asleep on the day that Agent Phi-Phil Coulson came to recruit u-us." Simmons nodded slowly. At least he remembered Coulson. It was a start.

"Okay, that's a good start, Fitz. I can help you with the rest. You can do this, I know you can."

"Together?"

She grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

"Together. First thing, the girl in red- her name is Skye."
