Loki

I followed him out if the guest room and down the golden hallways of the palace. We entered another room with a single white table in the middle with my clothes folded neatly in a stack on top. To the left of the table was a man, a little younger than Thor, maybe twenty. He had jet black hair that was shoulder length and slicked back. He had bright blue eyes. He wore a green undercoat with diagonal lines going across it. It looked like his clothes were made from leather. He wore black trousers along with black boots. He wore a cape like Thor however his was longer, going down to the backs of his ankles and it was a dark green like the colour of his undercoat. He was skinny and not as muscular than Thor but his smile was pure and kind. But I could not focus on his smile. He had Bucky's necklace.

He grinned at me while holding the necklace. I looked at him with daggers in my eyes. “Hazel,  let me introduce my younger brother, Loki.” Thor said as he waved his hand toward Loki. He was still holding my necklace, pretending to admire it.
“Brother, what are you doing in here?” asked Thor politely. Loki looked at Thor then at me. “I was just coming to meet our guest when I stumbled across this pretty necklace.” he said then nodded at the necklace. I looked at Loki. I wanted my necklace. Thor nodded at Loki in acceptance. “Well we just came in here so Hazel here could claim some of her stuff back.” Thor said softly then nodded at the stack of the clothes on the white table. Loki was still holding the necklace in front of him. He nodded. “I see...” said Loki. I kept looking at Loki and the necklace as he held it out in front of him. Loki dropped the necklace towards the floor. I looked at Loki and the falling necklace. If it hit the floor the red star would smash. I leant forward and ice shot out of my hand. The ice landed in thin air and the necklace fell onto it. Using one of my hands I used snow to slowly bring the necklace back to me. I stopped using the snow and the necklace fell in my hand.
I walked past Thor and towards Loki. Loki was grinning wildly while Thor was staring at me silently, opened mouthed and wide eyes. “I knew it!” Loki whispered to himself. He kept grinning. I got angry. I pointed my finger at his face and a small shot of ice came out the tip of my finger and hit him on the cheek. He held his cheek in the palm of his hand. “I could sense another kind of magic within the palace walls.” he said to me. He laughed at me. I put the necklace around my neck then looked back at Loki. "What are you?" asked Thor with terror and fear in his eyes. He raised his hammer. Loki put his hand up to Thor. "No need brother, I've seen her past, she can't control it, her powers I mean." Loki said with a grin. Thor lowered his hammer slowly. I thought of what Loki said. I rethought then realised what he said. "What do you mean by 'you've seen my past'?" I asked Loki with a confused face.

"You're necklace, or should I say Bucky's necklace, it holds memories. Things that are most precious to us, they hold all of our memories. That necklace around your neck holds all your memories and, because its past owner was Bucky, all of Bucky's memories too. I've seen your powers. You can't control your powers. Not without your friend. I'm surprised you managed to get that necklace back without losing control. Although you did lose control when you hit me in the cheek.". He pointed to his cheek which now had a bit of growing frost. He put his palm over the frost on his cheek and then removed his hand. The frost had gone. "Actually, that bit of frost was intended" I said to Loki with a grin.

I saw Thor step up to us. "I shall leave you two to talk. Hazel, Loki may be able to help you with your...magic." I looked at Loki. I wondered if he could really help me learn to control my powers. I doubted it. Only Bucky could help me. But even he couldn’t help me completely. Thor left the room. "Can you really help me?" I asked with a pleading voice. He looked at me then smiled. I could not tell of what he was thinking.
"I can train you, I can help you control your powers. Teach you how to use them. And the necklace. I saw you on the ship. You can fight, pretty well, actually. I can teach you how to fight properly. I can teach you a lot." said Loki. I looked at him with bright eyes. Loki was offering me the ability to control my power. I couldn’t turn it down. But then I thought. "At what cost?" I asked. Something this big of a deal would come with a price. "There's two things... there are often people who want to invade Asgard and there are often people who want to invade your homeland, Earth. You may have heard of the Avengers, Earth's mightiest heroes. Well, as you know there are often people who do invade Earth, and Earth may need protecting. I want you to be one of the new protectors of Earth. I want you to become an Avenger. Once you’ve learned to control your power and learned to fight. And the other thing...your full commitment." He said and he looked me deep in the eyes.
"I will care for you, Hazel. You can stay in the palace and become part of the family. How about it...sister?" Loki said quietly. He held out his hand. I reached forward and grabbed it. I looked up at him and smiled. "I will... Thank you." I smiled at him. I had a family. I had a home. I had someone to help me control my powers. Things might be looking up for me. Even if I didn’t have Bucky by my side.

I had to forget about Bucky. I had to forget about my past. I had to focus on my future. I thought of the life I had ahead of me. I was going to be trained to become an Avenger. I had a family. "Follow me," Loki said. He waved a hand past at me signalling me to follow him. He walked out of the room. I followed suit. He led me down a golden painted hallway. We turned a corner and suddenly we were in a large room.
