I could not believe it. I was going to be the princess if this new world that I had only just woken up in all because of my powers. I was going to have a father and a mother and two big brothers who were the God of thunder and the God of mischief. My life was actually going right for once. My big brother was an avenger and I was going to be trained and be an avenger. I was going to get help controlling my powers and then using them for the greater good. Everything felt perfect.
I looked down at Bucky's necklace and sighed. I wished my best friend was here with me. The truth was that I sort of thought that I had feelings for Bucky. But he was gone. Maybe even dead. I couldn’t think the worst but I couldn’t get my hopes up. I had to forget about Bucky. I could never truly forget about him, so I have do distance him from my mind. All I had to do was stop thinking about him. That way I could never forget, only not think about it.
Odin looked down at me and nodded at Loki. He turned around and started walking slowly back to the throne. Loki put his soft hand on my back and guided me out. I still could not grasp at how much gold there was in every single room. I looked at Loki and he looked at me back. “This is probably going to sound terribly rude” I said with curiosity, “but how old are you and Thor?” Loki looked at me with a grin then laughed uncontrollably. “Nobody’s asked me that in quite a while, well, Thor is 1500 and I am 1051 years of age.” He smiled and said casually. These people were gods that could live thousands of years. I was a mere mortal. I did not realize it but my mouth was gaping open at the sound of their age. All of a sudden, he looked at me with a seriousness in his eyes, “Why? My age hasn't caught up with me, has it?” Loki said. He felt his black slicked hair as if looking for grey hair. We both laughed again.
Once he had stopped laughing I asked him another question. “You don't have to answer this but I am curious and I just noticed that Thor and Odin look awfully alike however you look nothing like them.” I questioned with curiosity in my voice. He sighed then gave me an answer. “The truth is, I am adopted. Odin killed my parents in war. You probably know them as what you would call frost giants. Odin killed them. He hates me for doing the tiniest things wrong. No matter how much he claimed to love me he couldn’t bear to see a frost giant sitting on the throne of Asgard. And I don't want to scare you but you may well be the same. Odin will claim to love you but will never truly. You will do the smallest thing wrong and he'll blow up at you. I always used to get bullied by Thor. I grew up in the darkness of his shadow. And he is scared of you. I saw his face, so you wont need much protecting but I will always protect you know matter what. I don’t want you to grow up in this place just as I did. Living in the fear of somebody else’s shadow.” He whispered at me. I felt sorry for him. I was glad I had a brother like him. Even if we were both adopted. I grabbed his hand and he looked down at me. “I’m sorry about what happened. And thank you for the warning and the protection. And for that you have my protection.” I tried to say bravely. He nodded down at me and smiled kindly as I let go of his hand. We walked the rest of wherever we were going in silence, knowing that whatever happened I had someone’s back and they had mine. I had someone to trust. Someone to relate to. Someone that had seen everything. A friend and a brother.
He led me to a golden room with a four- poster bed with golden curtains surrounding the bed. I looked at Loki. I was not a fan of the gold. “This will be your bedroom, Hazel, and you may change it in any way you want to better suit your style. Everything you need is here and I even took the liberty of getting your old clothes and taking them to our tailors. When you get time, they will measure you and try to make replicas of your original clothes so you feel a little more at home. You will train in the clothes that I am having made for you and I will also add a few small details extra. For now, your old clothes are on that table in the corner. I wouldn't take them away from you as I can tell they mean a lot to you due to your friend Bucky and them being the last thing he touched before...” and Loki's voice trailed off. I nodded at him then thanked him and he left the room. He turned around quickly before shutting the door behind him. “I’ll be come back in about an hour, I’ll leave to have some time on your own...Oh, and Hazel, I'm sorry about what happened.” And then he left the room with one swift motion.
