Chapter 5

Years passed, even though I didn't know it. My body stayed still, cold, lifeless. My heart had been started again, although it was very slow. At times, doctors thought they had lost me, but they hadn't. So many false alarms. My mind wandered for years, wondering what people thought. I wished so badly to wake up, leave a horrible nightmare. Only I couldn't. It wasn't a nightmare. All this was real. But one day, I did finally wake up. Minutes away from being ten feet underground.

I opened my eyes. I was surrounded by darkness. I reached my arms out. I felt hard wood. Underneath me, I felt silk and satin. I knew exactly where I was. A coffin. People thought I was dead. But I wasn't. No one would hear me if I banged on the wood. I was still in the clothes from the accident, so I had my phone. I took it out on my pocket, miraculously unscathed by my accident. I began to text.

Kieran! I'm not dead! Get me out of here! Please.. I love you so much xxx love Sol.

I sent the message and waited. It wasn't long before he got the message.

"Wait! She isn't dead!" Kieran yelled. I could faintly hear him under the wood.

"What are you on about?" Someone else said.

"Open that coffin! Now!" He replied. I heard running, and soon, I could see the light again. I was lifted out of the coffin, and when my eyes adjusted to the new light, I realised it was Kieran. My hand reached out and touched his face. He was real. I wasn't dreaming.

"I'm alive..." I whispered. Kieran and others laughed at my strange tone. I grinned at Kieran.

"It's a miracle. I'm so glad you are alive." He answered. And then he leaned down and kissed me passionately. The audience burst into applause. I could get used to this.

I arrived home with Kieran later than I planned. The after party that was once my funeral, was now a welcome back party. When I entered the house, I forgot how long I had been 'dead'. My dad ran into the hallway holding a baseball bat. I laughed at his face when he saw me.

"Solange?!" He whispered confused. I grinned and nodded. I ran over and hugged him tightly. He hugged me back. I was so happy.

"What happened?" My dad demanded. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"I wasn't looking what I was doing in my car, I got crushed by a lorry, and then Jordan saved me." I used his disguise name so my dad wouldn't get confused.

"Okay, thank you so much Jordan, we owe you for a lifetime. More than that. We owe you our lives. Thank you." My dad said, then put his arms round Kieran. Kieran looked slightly confused but put his arms round my dad, making a weird face. I burst out laughing. My dad turned from Kieran.

"Dad... Do you remember Keegan?" I asked him quietly. I wanted to know. Dads face went blank. He shook his head. I nodded and made a fake yawn.

"Well, I'm tired, I'm going to bed." I said in a sleepy voice. My dad nodded. I showed Kieran out the door and then whispered to him

" Go to your house, change, come into my room by my window like usual. Love you" I kissed him quickly, and then he sped off into the night. I saw him change into a wolf in the darkness. How beautiful. I sighed and went back inside. I trailed up to my room. As soon as I was in my room, I locked the door, and changed into a black hooded sweatshirt and faded grey jeans.

I was changed in seconds, so I decided to text Kieran.

Kieran, bring anything that may be useful, including your memories. I want you here in five minutes. Love you xxx Love Sol.

Once that was done, I sat on my bed thinking, waiting until he came. I remembered the night of the crash, how nervous I had been then. Now I wasn't. It was as if I had lost my emotions. Or some of them. Fear, anxiety, sadness. They were all gone. I had the rest of my emotions. I decided to put some makeup on to make it more dramatic when I saved my sister. Black mascara and eyeliner. Blood red lipstick, with lip gloss over the top. I then added a pale powder to the rest of my face. Then changed outfits again. I changed into cameo trousers, a dark green crop top and two straps round my legs to put two guns. We would make a trip to Kieran's house. His parents had loads of weapons. I tied my hair back in a long plait. I also changed my makeup. Dark green eye shadow, bronzer, mascara and eyeliner (Both brown) and lip gloss. I looked more like Lara Croft than Solange Black. My blonde fringe covered one eye. I eyed myself once in the mirror, and then looked over to the window. There was a tap just as I looked over to it. I opened the window quickly, and Kieran hopped in. He looked me up and down once.
