Taking the Chances (2)
SOLANGES P.O.V
Chapter 3
I woke suddenly to the shrill sound of my alarm. I stretched and turned off the small yet annoying alarm clock, then glanced at the time. Eight thirty?! I was going to be late! I quickly jumped out of bed, at a height that would disgrace any Olympic height jumper. I then ran to my closet at a speed that if seen, would give the impression I had a rocket up my backside. I changed into my boring school uniform, a grey knee length skirt (adjusted so that it just about covered my bum), a white shirt tucked in (top two buttons undone, shirt untouched), knee length socks, a red and black tie and black school shoes ( black pumps for me). I then styled my short, blonde curls as I usually did, and then rushed downstairs. I tripped over one of my untied laces, falling face first on the wooden floor of the hall way. I got up trying not to laugh when I saw my dad standing over me. I then remembered how late I was, and sped off into the kitchen, looking for the breakfast bars. My dad laughed as his head poked round the door frame. I ran around like a headless chicken.
"Where's the fire?" My dad asked sarcastically. I scowled at him harshly. He showed his hands.
"First house on I'm going to be late unless you shut up" I replied, rushing towards the door. My dad laughed again. I picked up my bag and car keys then ran out the door, slamming it behind me. I unlocked the red convertible, and then leaped over the side.
"Maybe I should try out for high jump this year..." I muttered to myself as I put my Gucci sunglasses on, turned the stereo on and drove away at full speed.
I pulled into the entrance of the almost full parking lot. As usual, I was one of the last here. Last year I had been so organised. I sighed thinking back to when I was a total freak of nature, always handing in homework, getting every answer right. But no matter how hard I tried at school, I was never happy. Until I met Jordan. That's when my life turned around for the better. Now I had never been happier. I drove over to my usual spot, next to Jordan. He was sat on the bonnet of his black Ferrari. I pulled up next to him in my usual spot, took off my sunglasses and turned the car off. Jordan opened the door and pulled me gently out of the car.
"Hola mi novia" He said with a smirk and a perfect Spanish accent.
"Hola mi novio" I replied, smirking at him. He smirked back at me. He was perfect in his own special way.
"You've been practicing your Spanish then?" He asked as we began to walk to English.
"Yeah, I took your advice and listened to that copy of the Spanish CD you made me, it is amazing!" I answered. I wasn't lying either. I really had and I had improved so much.
Jordan and I were the schools most popular people. Everyone wanted to be us, and to be with us. That was another of the many reasons we were perfect for each other. We loved each other; don't ever think of setting eyes on anyone else. We care about each other, and are always there for each other. That reminded me of something that happened not too long ago.
I was walking, down the empty corridors, as I usually did when I was skipping a class. I didn't realise that Josh, a year 11 boy was behind me. He pushed me into the lockers, stopping me from moving.
"Ouch! What the hell do you think you are doing?! You idiot! Do you not know who I am?!" I screamed at him. He just grinned.
"Oh, I know who you are. Why else would I be doing this?" His voice was low, as if he was trying to sound sexy. I hated it when boys did that. Trying to make a girl like them by sounding sexy. It made me think they had a really bad cold.
