JORDAN'S POV
My brother was dead, I had done nothing to save him... I felt so guilty. I hung my head in despair and shame. But I knew I had to go on, and finish the quest my brother had so bravely took part in, I had to keep Solange safe, and get Keegan back. Right now, that was all that mattered. I began to sniff the groud, picking up Solange's scent... A long with two others... A familliar scent that I recognised straight away. She was with Kaoru and Leo! I ran off, following the scent out of the forest and into the valleys. I could see a sillouette of the great mansion in the distance, and a few miles in front, the sillouttes of three running figures. I leaped, changing back into my human form and ran as fast as I could, hoping I could catch up with them.
"Hold on Keegan, help is on the way" I whispered.
KEEGAN'S POV
"Hold on Keegan, help is on the way" I heard Jordan whispered. I opened my eyes suddenly and gasped. That voice... He was still alive... He was coming to get me. I grinned as I swept the floor of Damon's room.
"What the hell is wrong with you, slave?!" He yelled, looking at me from his bed. I swore at him in my head.
" Nothing is wrong, master." I answered still grinning. He growled getting up and walking over to me.
"Then wipe that stupid grin off your face before I do it for you!" He growled. I raised an eyebrow at him and stopped grinning. "Happy?" I growled back. He raised his hand and slapped me across the face with such a force that I fell to the floor. "Don't get cocky with me!" He screamed. I couldn't help but laugh.
" Aww, is the vampire prince getting angry?" I cooed. He growled and kicked my stomach. I yelled in pain.
"Any more smart remarks?" He whispered angrily, his dark eyes watching me carefully. I thought for a second and shook my head. "Nope, I'm done, 'master'." I said with irony. He kicked me again and stormed out of the room. I grinned and stood up again and carried on sweeping, knowing it would only be a matter of hours before I was released from here.
SOLANGE'S POV
We had been running for hours on end, with no stops. But finally, we stopped next to a fast flowing river. We were all gasping for air, and Leo actually fell to the floor. He rolled on his back, his chest heaving as he battled to fill his lungs with air. I sat down beside him and smiled.
" Almost there now Leo, don't worry" I gasped. All he could do was nod. We both smiled as Kaoru came and sat beside us. She was barely out of breath, which was suprising.
" If we carry on at this speed, we can be there" she pointed to the mansion at the top of a hill, "in an hour or so." Kaoru finished. Both Leo and I nodded. I looked behind us, to see a guy running towards us. I squinted, and could just make out who it was.Jordan! I got up and ran to him, flinging myself at him.
"Jordan!" I cried. I hadn't seen him in hours. He wrapped his arms around me, gasping for air.
"I'm so sorry, Solange. I really am..." He trailed off, looking at me. And then I realised he was alone, Kieran hadn't followed.
" Where's... Where's Kieran?" I asked in a whisper. Jordan shook his head, letting go of me.
" he's gone, Solange... I'm sorry." He answered, lowering his head. I stumbled back, not quite comprehending what he had said.
"What... What do you mean?" I whispered. He gulped and I could see it in his eyes that this was going to be something that would hurt us both deeply.
"He's dead..." He whispered, looking away from me. I stood there for a while, comprehending what he had just said.
"Oh... Okay..." I whispered, feeling the tears slide down my cheeks. Leo put his arms around me.
" I don't mean to be harsh Solange, but crying isn't going to make anything any better, we may as well get moving while we can, and cry later" Leo said. I nodded, drying my eyes.
"You're right, let's go get Keegan back, for Jordan." I said with a weak smile. Jordan gave me a hug and I had a hard time trying not to cry.
JORDAN'S POV
I felt so sorry for Solange, she felt the way I did that night when I lost Keegan. I hugged her tightly and I knew she was trying not to cry. She was strong, I was sure she could make it through this. My brother would be watching over her all the way. I looked up and smiled. He was with our mother, I was proud of him for coming this far. I let go of Solange and we began to run twoards the hill, getting closer to Keegan.
"Almost there, hold in there." I thought. And I swear I heard her answer.
