Lance's POV

The sun's out today. Keith's phone blasts " I like me better " by Lauv into our shared AirPods. Yes, Keith Kogane listens to pop music now thanks to yours truly.

Anyway, the weather did a 180 degrees flip from Monday to now and I couldn't be more satisfied with the sounds of birds chirping on our way to school.

Or maybe it's because I'm happy. The last two days were off days from school and I made good use of them by renting an expensive hotel room with the guy who makes me question my sanity.

How could I have hated him before?
How am I so stupidly in love with a guy I'm positive I used to dislike? It's so weird how things turned out. I guess hate really is as intense as love. A thin line seperates the two and, once broken, everything flips.

During our time in the hotel, we were fully invested in getting to know each other more, after the first night. We asked billions of questions— yes, I could tell you what his most and least favorite type of insect is— we used the luxuries that the hotel offers from food to indoor pools to saunas. We played board games— he's a sore loser— and even movie marathoned the whole night.

That's why there are bags under our eyes and I'm sure I look like a zombie but Keith...
Keith unsurprisingly works this tired look. His hair is in a small ponytail again, only letting his bangs fall randomly over the sides of his face. He's wearing a red tank top and it's seriously distracting not wearing any jacket over it. It should be illegal how it shows off his muscles and threatens to show his nipples— but never quite does, ugh— every time some random warm winds come around.

His dark jeans are sagging a little which blows my mind because they're so tight and I don't know how he wears them. He tucks the legs of it into his large combat boots which gives him an attractive, almost powerful vibe. Safe to say, his style is very different from mine; he's into tight fits and goth looks and it's all weirdly attractive combined with his slim figure and his baby face.

" What was first period again? Do we have maths? I don't think I can focus if yeah."
Admittedly, he's walking slowly in front of me and looks like he can't take the weight of his backpack anymore.

My fault, since I told him to pack so much. We even got food from the hotel and packed it for school.

He keeps switching the weight of the bag from shoulder to the other. In his arms is a grey jacket he took off when the heat made a shocking appearance.

" We actually have maths," I tell him the bad news as I reach for the handle of his backpack and raise it so that I'm carrying the weight. I pull at it and amidst his whining, Keith hesitantly lets it slip off his shoulders. I swing both bags over my upper body as he links his fingers with mine.

" Lance."

" Yeah?"

" I'm really happy right now."

I smile at the pavement like the love struck youngster that I am before mirroring his words and I notice he has the softest look on his face when our gazes meet.
