Layers of Insecurities

chapter 9

That afternoon....

Mom said that she have a surprise for me when i get home, after the whole incidents i kinda calm myself a bit and started thinking why would he actually like me?, getting lost in my thought i heard my mom shouting for me, and so i went in the car.

"so, how's school?" bad "good everything was fine " i said, "so what was the surprise that you are telling me about ?" i ask while looking at her. she looked at me and smiled " you will see once you get home".

When we arrived home, i quickly exit the car and head inside, there awaits all of my brothers and some girls that seems too close, a girl was sitting next to my biggest brother his name is Preston and one next my second big brother is name kelon , while the youngest is named Brian is smiling sheepishly at them. Quickly i made my way over and smile which seems polite and both of the girls smiled back. 

" Hey sis finally home" my biggest brother said and walked over to give me a big hug, same goes with my second brother. to say i miss them was an understatement we use to be really close before the incident happen and now that i am a little more comfortable with who i am maybe things can go back to normal. 

"Here let me introduce you to my one and only little sister" my second brother said motioning a tall, slim, dark hair and eyes, face sculpted like a model girl over " HI there ! "she greets "its so nice to finally meet you she says " i smiled back "HI nice to meet you too" i replied 

"Tulip this is Shaphire my girlfriend " he said, and she smile

"And here is Penelope my Fiancé" i gasp shocked "Hi Tulip nice to meet you", she smiles and walks over engulfing me in a hug she has a light brown eyes and tan skin tone which make her eyes pop, light brown hair and a very petite body, "Hi, well nice to meet you too " i laughed, everyone laughed at my reactions, which made me feel that things are finally falling back to place where they should have been. 

After chatting and asking questions about each other, us three girls became friends and family real quick, " so ladies, how about we go shopping these Saturday, Tulip you can invite your friends over too" Penelope suggest "thats a great idea that way we girls can have a girls day out "Shaphire join in " then alright " i giggled and we continue to gossip about my brothers and telling them my brothers embarrassing past.

They told me that there was a ball that was held next week and our family is invited so we need to get more clothes and gowns for the ball, basically it is a special event so i guess it is formal. 

Saturday.... 

Saturday is here, finally,  i invited everyone to come with me with my potentially sisters-in-laws and hung out, we were having fun and picked out a bunch of fancy outfits because Penelope invited us to go to a ball including my friends, we shopped for hours until everyone was exhausted and went into a cafe because they were wearing heels, HA! jokes on them i told them they would regret wearing it. I got bored so i decided to shop around some more. 

" You guys can stay here i am gonna go around and shop some more" i said and got up, all of them groan and nodded and proceed to order drinks. 

i walk around searching for some accessories to go with the dress that i bought, and as i was walking pass some shops i saw one shop that in particular suits my taste or sense of fashion if you might want to call it. I went inside and check for some jewelry while looking for necklaces and bracelets i came across a ring that looks just like the signature flower design that my dad have drawn for me since i was a little girl so i ask to see it, the sales person told me it was a limited edition and it just came out, without a second thought i bought it. i head back to the girls where they have ordered me coffee and waited for me so that we can continue to shop altogether. 

Half an hour into our shopping spree, i wander off to a shop alone and saw someone familiar he was with a girl with his hands around her waist and her hands hooked with his, she kissed him on the lips but he didn't budge, my heart started beating fast as i began to walk closer to him, and when i got close my breathing stop so does my heart it was Dante he was holding the girl hands, she was a tall blonde girl with a supermodel body with fair skin, blue eyes and a million worth of face she was a living barbie, compare to me she is much more sophisticated and beautiful.

the closer i got the more my heartaches, is that is girlfriend? i thought we have something but in the end it was just my imaginations,  who am i kidding why would he like someone like me? i am broken and scarred, i must be stupid. but why is my heart Hurting why do i feel like dying? it hurts, once i got closer a whisper came out of my mouth 

"Dante ? " he turns around and locked eyes with me, a smile immediately fell from his face. "Fancy seeing you here" i faked a smile he looked away guiltily. the girl turn her head and linked her arm with Dante's my eyes immediately landed on their hands, my heart clenches. 

"Hi nice to meet you i am Dante's Fiancé" she put out her hand and gave me an evil smirk. 

"Fiancé " i whisper tears threatening to spill out of my eyes, but i couldn't cry not anymore so i looked back up and said "Pleasure is all mine " i smiled, "anyway i have to go" i said as i look at Dante his eyes seems broken i look at him and said "Congratulations " with that i turn away and walked towards my friends. 

i don't feel like shopping anymore and so i went home and may or may not have weeped a little.
