The music pulsed through my veins making the brown liquid in my cup wobble slightly as I lent against a wall and watched the very sober Eli walk around checking on everyone.

He actually was quite sweet, he leant me some clothes since I was only in my dressing gown when I showed up.

The alcohol was already hitting my head hard making my vision slightly blurred.

"Hey" he shouted over the music and I smiled in response ruffling his hair with my hand "where's Finn these days? I thought you two were dating?" he yelled again and I shook my head before answering "we broke up" "what?" the boy shouted "I can't hear you?"

"I said we broke up!" I basically screamed before laughing slightly due to my tipsy state "do you wanna go somewhere quieter I can't understand what you're saying" he chuckled and I nodded before taking his hand leading him out the back door.

The music pumped from inside and I heard the group of teenagers start chanting about something, there was no one outside except a couple girls making out in the corner and I stumbled to a stop after Eli.

"woah woah woah" he laughed as I swayed around and almost toppled over but I felt his hands steady me and I smiled "THANKS" I shouted causing the taller boy to giggle even more "you can speak normally now we aren't inside anymore" "OH OKAY"

"so where is your boyfriend tonight?" he laughed "I don't have a boyfrieeend" "oh, what made you change your mind about the party then" "I need a distraction" I sighed kneeling down suddenly "hey hey, you're okay" Eli chuckled kneeling next to me in my drunken state

"I think we should call your parents to come pick you up or something" his words seemed so distant in my flow of thoughts "my mums dead and my dads probably passed out on the couch" I lolled, tipping my head back to feeling the wind on my skin

"wait what?" Eli stopped smiling and sat on the damp grass, his words full of concern "are you okay Y/N? I'm so sorry" he spoke softer than before

"my father ... h-he's such a dick, wasn't even gonna tell m-" but I didn't get to finish my sentence because I felt a sudden burning in my throat and I jumped up running to the bathroom as my head spun,

I bent over the toilet and threw up, hearing some footsteps behind me and heaved a sigh and slouched against the wall before Eli came into my view and rubbed my back comfortingly as I panted and sweat beads formed on my forehead

"I think you should stay here tonight" he soothed pushing my hair behind my ear and I nodded in response.

I woke to the sound of a car door slamming from outside and I groaned stretching my arms up to meet the puffy pillows my head also lay on.

My eyes squinted open and took in my surroundings, this wasn't my room, or my clothes and then I remembered "oh shit" I breathed jumping up and running to the window before looking out and seeing my car parked outside next to a familiar blue one, Elliotts.

"looking or me?" the deeper voice made me jump and turn to see Eli leaning against the doorframe holding a cardboard tray with two drink in it.

"I got coffee ... I um thought you might need it so here" he smiled handing me one of the cups and I nodded with thanks before setting it down next to me and running my hand through my hair and sighing deeply

"oh OH don't worry I slept on the couch down stairs and you were wearing those clothes already" Eli explained hurriedly as he pointed to the cream coloured hoodie I was wearing which reached my knees

"I also picked up some of Lizzies clothes you can borrow for today, I didn't know if you were planning on going home so here you go" he threw some clothes in my direction and I caught them with one hand and smiled again

"I'll be down stairs so when you've finished getting changed don't hesitate to come down, lizzie is here but that's it my parents are out of town"

but before the taller boy left the room I stopped him "hey Elliott?" "yeah" "thanks, for everything" "no problemo" he chuckled before closing the door behind him as he disappeared into the hallway.

After getting dressed and finishing the coffee I turned to myself in the mirror and stared at the bags under my eyes and my collar bones which were more defined than usual, I was a mess.

"that's it" I sighed heavier than before "no more anxiety, no more crying, no more self pity. She's gone and there's nothing you can do to bring her back or make it better. That's it" I spoke sternly to my reflection before adjusting my posture and turning on my heel as I marched out of the bedroom
