AS SHE STOOD IN FRONT OF THE DOOR THE NEXT MORNING, THE MOON STILL UP AND EVERYONE ELSE IN MYSTIC FALLS STILL ASLEEP, RAVEN SALVATORE CURSED HERSELF FOR RETURNING. What was the point anyway? It wouldn't make Kol suddenly any less dead than an hour ago and it wouldn't make the pain any more bearable. Tensing her jaw to an almost painful point ― as though that kind of physical pain mattered to her right now ― Raven reached out to the door of the Gilbert house and pushed it open.

She didn't need to announce herself to Klaus. Who else would it be? Nobody else dared to step inside after what Elena and Jeremy had done. They also didn't care about Kol enough to waste any precious minutes getting to the cure while Klaus was locked inside the living room.

Klaus looked up as Raven stepped inside and shut the door behind her with a slight nod. He looked miserable. Raven was pretty sure she looked even worse, judging from how she felt and the look on the hybrid's face. The two exchanged a quiet glance as Raven put her bags down next to him and sighed softly, before she turned at Kol's body on the table, wrapped neatly in white fabric.

Before she had left to get her supplies for the trip, Raven had put a preservation-spell upon Kol's body in an attempt to give him a somewhat proper honoring while she was gone.

The witch closed her eyes for a moment before she turned back to Klaus. "I think the spell will only hold a few days and by then I'll be back, considering they want to get the cure into a safe place before you're free by all means. When I'm back and you're free, you and I, we'll give him a proper burial. Alright?" She spoke up and Klaus nodded. They hadn't talked very much since last night.

Nodding slightly to herself, Raven went into the kitchen and turned on the coffee machine. "So, are you really going with them?" Klaus asked from behind her and Raven stiffened. "Yes. That way I'll know where to look. Shane has been there before and if I'm following them anyways I can already play best friend with them. That way they won't get suspicious when I go to get the cure with them. Besides," she shrugged. "The idea of hopping onto that private plane I requested from the Hunter's Guild instead of using a public one and wasting time to get to the island and the cure apparently is too alluring."

Indeed, it was. After Kol's death, the rest of those who were in the race for the cure had teamed up and formed a plan. However the professor had called Raven in an attempt to soothe the tides between them and talk her into joining them. Apparently, Raven was an important and useful ally they needed in their quest for the cure. Honestly, Shane had been awfully insistent on the whole thing.

Raven put the coffee into the thermos bottle and placed it onto the small table next to Klaus before she turned to him again. He was still eyeing her with that odd look, she realized while she put on the jacket. "What?" Raven asked and raised an eyebrow half-way at the hybrid before she turned and put the rest of her things into the bag.
