THIRTY-SEVEN
WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE MYSTIC FALLS
WHEN RAVEN SALVATORE had been younger, before everything (or more specifically, the night that had led her to become a hunter and later a vampire), the time back when she was still a cheerleader, even when Tyler and her were still platonic best friends and not yet in a relationship, graduation had been the dream. It had been what Raven had worked to, what she had studied for, the reason she went to school every day. It was the gate to utter and sweet freedom, to the bright future that was an unwritten sheet of paper waiting for her to write the first letter with ink onto it. Graduation had been the dream. Now, it was a nightmare.
After everything that had happened, after Bonnie had dropped the veil in her failed attempt to contact Qestiyah for help with Silas, which resulted in all dead supernatural creatures having a free pass to roam Mystic Falls as they liked, or at least until the full moon tonight, Raven could think of a million other things she'd rather be doing than preparing for her graduation.
The three Salvatores were sitting around the kitchen island, sipping coffee together while Adrian flipped through the pages of one of the folders Raven had collected on Silas before her death. Finally, he let out a sigh. "I don't like this." Adrian announced, pushing the folder away before finishing his coffee. "I mean, yeah, this Bennett girl turned him to stone and all, but now what? He's not gonna be a calcified statue forever."
"Well, it's the best thing we can do now. Qetsiyah didn't show to help us reverse the immortality spell and they're not gonna give up the cure for him." Raven shrugged. "They should do it and get him out of the world. If he took the cure, he's dead for good. It will loose us all chance of finding out how to replicate the cure and get more of it so we can reduce vampirism without killing the whole Mikaelson lot. But if the alternitaive is Silas roaming the Earth..."
Adrian frowned. "The what?" She asked and Raven waved it off. "Long story. You kill an original vampire and theirwhole sireline dies. We found out when I killed Finn and it was confirmed when... when Kol died."
"I see," Adrian replied and rubbed his face with the palm of his right hand. "And I need more coffee to keep up with this town."
"Agreed," Raven told him and held out her coffee mug for him to refill. With a chuckle, he took it and walked over to the coffee machine.
"So, Qestiyah didn't show up when Bonnie wanted her help but she's sending her hunters to get the cure by violence?" Adrian asked and Raven nodded. "Apparently. At least that's what the voicemails from Stefan and Elena said. Vaughn and Connor are already back and kicking. I'm guessing she didn't reach out to me orJeremy because we're... not really her conventional hunters anymore. Technically I don't even know if I would still count as a member of the Five if I am a vampire."
"If you look at the fact that Qestiyah's Five aren't vampire hunters but that they hunt Silas, you should be. I mean, traditionally the Five are humans but you were a witch so I think she would still count you as a member of the Five. I think it's more your stand in this whole thing that's her issue," Ellen pointed out and the two threw her a look before Raven let out a long sigh. "Maybe, I don't know," she told her mom.
