When I think of the streets,
the hood, the alleyways,
I think of the liars, the rapists, the cheats. When I speak of the poverty,
the hunger, the thirst,
I speak of the drunks, the fools, the cursed. When I dream of the wild,
the nature, the air,
I dream of the bears, the storms, the snares. When I talk of the cities,
the crowds, the lights,
I talk of the hate, the traffic, the fights. When I whisper of the abuse,
the bruises, the marks,
I whisper of the terror, the screams, the narcs. But when I shout of the joy,
the forgiveness, the delight,
I shout of the wonders, the love, the bird that takes flight.
