Does a hawk hunt it's prey,
in the night or the day?
Would it spread its great wings,
abandon it's chicks in the bay?

Does the panther stalk with purpose,
or turn tail and run?
With fear on its paws and regret on its tongue?

If the bear has a problem,
a lost cub gone astray,
does it sit in the silence to simply hope, to pray?

Would a shark who feels hunger,
lay down and die?
Would it swim to a corner,
feel no need to play sly?

If the wolf hunts the deer,
snow crackling, wind whistling,
would the deer show it's neck, ready it's blood to be smeared?

Does a snake use it's venom,
or it's constricting length?
Or does it let the mouse run,
hide it's power, hide it's strength?

No the hawk feeds it's chicks,
and the strong panther fights.
The bear finds its cub, then purrs through the night.

The shark seeks it's meal,
and the deer runs and it darts.
And the snake, oh the snake,
it poisons and bites.

So why don't we follow the ways of the wild?
We are animals, no doubt nature's child.
So we dive like the hawk,
and stratch like the panther,
We fight for our children,
no doubt use our antlers.
So we hunt like a shark,
and bite like a snake,
for with us is power,
now go, prove you won't break.
