Later on during the day, the two were eating lunch out on the town. "I want you to meet my friends." Dallas announced to Jessica as she sucked down her shake.

Jessica slowly looked up at him. "Why?" She asked, curiously. She had never been in a serious committed relationship before, so she didn't understand the concept of a man showing off his girl to his friends.

"Because you're my girl... wait, are you my girl?" Dallas whispered the last part over to her, to be sure they were on the same page romantically.

Jessica chuckled at him. "As long as your my boy, I'll be your girl."

Dallas cheekily smiled at her. "Good, because you're gonna meet my friends tomorrow. All of 'em: Johnny, Darry, Soda, Ponyboy, Two-Bit, and Steve." He listed.

As planned, Jessica and Dallas ended up over at Darry's house. As the two entered the old and broken down house, a loud holler from all the boys was heard as a greeting to Dallas. Dallas waved them off, then pointed to Jess. "This is—" Dallas began.

But, one of the boys had cut him off. "Jessica?" Jessica looked around the living room to see which one of the various boys had recognized her. Her eyes stopped scanning the room immediately when they landed on Sodapop Curtis. "Sodapop?" She turned to Dallas. "When you said Soda, I didn't know you meant Sodapop Curtis."

Soda jumped to his feet and engulfed Jessica in a tight hug. "Me and Jess go way back. I used to have a crush on her in middle school, I think I loved her more than I love Sandy now." Soda laughed. Dallas' face dropped and he began eyeing the two with distrust.

"Oh, but don't worry, Dal. I'm over that now." Soda assured Dallas.

"Yeah, yeah, pretty boy had the hots for my girlfriend— I'm fine with that." Dallas sarcastically spoke.

"My god, have you grown into your looks, Sodapop." Jessica was in disbelief, she broke their hug to take a good gaze at his face.

Soda blushed and broke away from her, to allow her to meet the others. "I'm Darrel, Soda's older brother." Darrel seemed very manly and serious.

"I'm Johnny." The smallest boy quietly spoke.

"I'm Steve and this here is Two-Bit." The two hicks of the group couldn't help but to gawk at Jessica.

"Hey, I wanted to introduce myself!" Two-Bit hit Steve.

"Where's Pony?" Dallas asked as he took a seat on the couch, Jess followed suit and sat right next to him.

"He should be on his way back home by now, he went to the movies." Darrel looked out the window.

"Alone? With all them socs out there?" Dallas inquired.

Soda then went outside to the patio to check to see if Pony was anywhere nearby, and to much surprise, Soda saw him from afar. "He's getting jumped by the socs!" Soda shrieked, then all the boys went running out the door— following Soda who was the only one who saw where Pony was from afar.
