"And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty".

[Qur'an]

Afreen's pov.

As the rays of the shining sun slowly embraced the city, the atmosphere of the house came alive. While the hearts and minds of the people were at peace, the mind of one person was screaming louder than anything else, and it was mine.

I was getting married!

I closed my eyes as the thought sank deeper into my brain.
I was getting married to a man I hardly fancied. In three weeks time, I'll be someone else's.

How could I be at peace when my heart was with someone else, whom I love dearly. I was fighting an internal battle alone which was causing an unfamiliar and uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach.

And there, I laid on the bed with my head resting on the soft pillow, thinking of no one other than Abdoul Rahman.

*FlashBack (a few days back)

I was at Grand Towers Mall doing some last minute shopping, things I thought I would need in my new home.
Yes guys! I know!...I'm a month from becoming Mrs.Arhmad, a month from living my fairytale with my 'Sheikh Charming'.
It's really funny how time flies. Seems to me like it was yesterday when my wedding date was fixed, but the irony is what I'm facing.

Also feels like it was just yesterday when I entered the big gates of NILE university, thinking of how to survive, thinking of how I can make it out here for four years.
But here I am now...A first class graduate of Bsc. Biology. It feels so surreal.

Putting my thoughts aside, I paid for the things I bought and made my way to the exit door. Once I got out, a guy bumped into me making the things I was holding fall off the ground.

"Oh my God! Are you ohkay?" He asked.

I wanted to scream at him, tell him to watch where he's going and to not use his phone while walking but decided to keep myself cool.

"I'm really sorry" He added.

I nodded, looking at him for the first time. He's tall, fair and a bit muscular. He was wearing a black button up shirt, navy blue pants and a Ray Ban shades covering his eyes from the blazing sun.

I bent down to gather my belongings that were laying on the ground. He also assisted in helping me pack but man oh man I could feel his intense gaze on me. It was potent. I could swear he wasn't even blinking. I didn't look up tho.

"Afreen"!

Wait what! Did he just call out my name. I looked up as he was taking off his shades and my eyes clashed with his.

"AbdoulRahman"!!

Subhanallah I was shocked to the brim. I never thought I'll ever see him again. But reality has it's way of planning things out. After all its a small world.

He insisted on grabbing lunch together. After much hesitation, I gave in and we headed to Dominos. We talked and talked and talked like nothing ever happened between us.
