Chapter 14

Recap from chapter 13: Skye is so happy that she can't control herself. Chase tells Skye that he will be in the army for at least two years.

    Skye was still staring at the screen with an expression that scared Chase. He was afraid of what she would say when she found out that Chase did something Skye didn't like, but her expressions were much worse. After about a minute of silence, Skye finally spoke in the softest, but most serious tone of voice. Chase was still learning about relationships, but he knew that a soft tone like this wasn't good.

    " Why the army Chase?", Skye said with the soft tone. Chase was speechless. He had never been so scared in his entire life. He knew he had to answer the question, but he was so worried of the response that he might receive from Skye.

    " I want to protect you Skye", Chase said. Chase looked down in sadness, knowing that he couldn't be there for her. After he said that, he was ready for the questions that were going to be yelled out of Skye's mouth, but he didn't hear anything. He didn't even look up, he didn't dare. He finally heard something that Skye had never said before.

    " Chase, look at me", said Skye in a very loving tone. Chase decided to obey, he looked up, but with something astonishing that caught his attention. Skye wasn't mad, she wasn't even worried. Instead, she was smiling at him.

    " I love you and i'm so proud of you for wanting to protect me, but the army isn't the way to do it", said Skye, still smiling at him. Chase didn't know what to say.

    " I love you too, but I have to go", said Chase.

    " Okay, I'll talk to you tonight", said Skye. Chase hung up, still sad about leaving her. He then heard a voice talk to him.

    " Good job, pup", said General Isam. Chase then saw him talk into a walky-talky.

    " Sir, we have the package", said General Isam. Chase was curious who he was talking to. He then heard an evil laugh behind him.

    " Well done general", said Mayor Humdinger. Three guns then pointed to Chase.

   " One, Two, Three, FIRE!!!", said Mayor Humdinger. The three guns then fired all at once.
