A Sketchbook is open to a blank page on my lap. I sit on my bed with a brown colored pencil in hand as I finish the shadows on a chestnut horse head. I fill in the shadows of the eyes and take my hand away to observe my handiwork A Quarter horse stares back at me with a curious expression. Ears pricked forward, alert eyes. I smile at the realism.

My head starts to pound so I flip the sketchbook closed and lay my head down on the pillow so that I'm staring at the ceiling. The room starts to spin and I become nauseous to the point that I flop over to the edge of the bed and puke into the bucket my sister left by my bed.

I flop back to my orignal position with the awful taste of vomit in my mouth. I hate concussions. They are so boring. I can't ride horses or run outside. I can't even play on my phone because staring at the screen makes me feel sick. Even drawing is exhausting!

All I can really do is sit in my bed and stare at the ceiling or sleep until my mom, dad, or sister brings me food. I sigh and hear the sound of nails scraping the wood floor. Boomer dashes into my room followed by Daisy. My mom comes last balancing a tray in her hands.

"Finally!" I exclaim as I prop myself up with pillows.

Mom smiles and sets the tray on my lap. It has pot roast smothered in gravy with mash potatoes also smothered in gravy and green beans with a roll to top it all off.

"Thanks" I say as I dig my fork into the creamy mess of mash potatoes.

"When can I go outside?" I say as i swallow my mouthful of mash potatoes.

"Honey, it's only been a day!"

        "But I'm so boooooored"

"You need to rest here for about 3 or so days. Now, eat your supper and then go to bed. You need to rest!"

Mom kisses me on the top of my head and then walks out of my room. I give her back the evil eye and then began eating my dinner again. The dogs follow mom out into the wall and then turn and come back into my room and jump onto my bed next to my feet.

They watch as I shovel food into my mouth and the take turns grabbing the small bits of pot roast that I hold out to them. When I finish, I set my tray on my nightstand and lay down on my bed.

Daisy and Boomer, who had been sitting on the foot of my bed, inch closer as I throw the covers over me. They both lay down next to me and Boomer snuggles under my left arm and Daisy under my right. I fall asleep with them both licking my cheeks
