Chapter Four: The Defense

I woke up in a cheerful mood. The sun was shining and the wind was warm. I chose a pretty grey sweater with white snowflakes all over it. I let my hair down, and it curls to my elbows. I put on some light blue skinny jeans, and white flats. I put some make up on, and ran down the stairs. Anna is eating a bowl of cereal super fast.

"Hey!"

"Heyelsayoulookbeautifulttoday!" I giggled as Anna tried to speak with her mouth full. She smiled, and swallowed.

"Ready?" I asked. She nodded, and we heard a honk. We ran outside, and I sat in that jerks seat again. This will be fun.

He got on, and scowled at me. I smirked, and put my headphones in. There were no other empty seats, so he had no choice to sit next to me. I look out the window, taking in the jerks scent. He somehow smells like winter and mint. He smells good...

I smirk the entire time on the bus, and my smirk turns into a smile when I see Hiccup at the school line. The bus stops, and Jack gets out before me and steals Hiccup. Hiccup laughs at Jack, and then stares at me when I come into sight. Jack tries to tell Hiccup something, but he's not listening. He's just smiling. I wave, and he waves back. I smile, and walk to chemistry. Anna follows me, and I catch her staring at a muscular blonde guy. I saw him yesterday! Haha.

We enter, and we sit in the same seats as yesterday. There are only two seats that are empty now. One is next to me, and the other is in the front. That's when Hiccup and Jack come in. They notice the seats, and they race to the seat next to me. Jack won. He sits down and puts his feet up. Hiccup punches his shoulder and scowls at me, but then freezes when he sees me. I giggle like an idiot and he smiles.

"Go sit in the front Romeo," Jack smirked. I scowl at him. Hiccup just blushes, and sits in the front. I giggle again. Anna taps my shoulder, and whispers in my ear, "I think he likes you!!" I gasp and punch her shoulder playfully. I whisper, "no he doesn't! Were just friends..." Anna smirks.

"Sure." I scowl at her, and the bell rings. Mrs. Elleigh walks in, and coughs. The room silences.

"Welcome back! I'm going to pair you in partners, and you will create the right elixer to melt ice instantly." She starts ranting off names until she reaches my name.

"Elsa and Jack, and finally, Anna and Hiccup. Get started!" Hiccup looks sad, and smiles at me. I smile back.

"Well, it's you and me, princess," Jack says. I scowl at him.

"Don't call me princess."

"I can do whatever I want."

"You're a jackass."

"Haha. Very funny." I giggle when I remembered that his name is in jackass. I got out a vile, and scowled. I got the rest of the equipment and made a disgusted face. They are disgusting and dirty.

"I'm going to wash these."

"What?!?" he complains.

"Don't do anything when I'm gone."

"Yes princess." I rolled my eyes and walked the equipment to the sink in the bathroom in the halls. When I get there, someone is already there: Hiccup. He's washing off his own equipment as well.

"Hey." He jumps when I spoke.

"JESUS! Oh, Elsa! You gave me a heart attack!" I snort.

"I love the way she snorts," he muttered.

"You do?"

" I do what?"

"Like the way I snort. I thought it's annoying."

"Who said I like the way you snort?" I snort again.

"You spoke your thoughts out loud!" I giggle, and set the stuff in the sink. Hiccup chuckles, and blushes.

"S-so Elsa, what's your favorite color?" I raise an eyebrow.

"Why?"

"I just want to know you better."

"Oh. It's blue. How bout yours?"

"Green." Hmm...like his eyes.

"Green would have to be my second favorite color. I never wear it because it doesn't match my eyes though," I say. He chuckles, and I smiled. I was about done washing, when I heard a scream. I looked at Hiccup in horror, and we ran down the hall to the chemistry class. Anna and everyone else were running out.

"What the hell is going on??!?!?" I yell. Anna runs to me.

"Jack mixed something wrong, and the place is going to blow!"

"JACK!!!!!" I scream. Anna tries to take my hand, but Hiccup takes it first, and he pulls me out of the school with him. Anna follows up, and I see Jack laughing. Jack sees me, and he looks at mine and Hiccup's intertwined hands. His face turns into a death glare. Then, he looks at Hiccup, carrying the glare. He walks up to me and yells in my face.

"STAY AWAY FROM HICCUP!! YOU DONT DESERVE HIM!! HE IS MY BEST FRIEND AND IM NOT GOING TO LET HIM GET HEARTBROKEN BY A FAKE LIKE YOU!!" I scowl at him, and let go of Hiccups hand. I feel cold, for the first time, but the heat generates back when I slap Jack in the face. A tear rolls down my cheek, and it freezes. Jack looks at it, and marvels. Hiccup takes my hand and drags me behind him.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!! WHAT THE HELL DID SHE DO TO YOU??!?" I thought about it...well, I took his seat on the bus. That was it.

"Sh-she-"

"SHE DIDNT DO ANYTHING!!! YOURE JUST JEALOUS THAT SHE ACTUALLY TALKS TO ME AND IS FRIENDS WITH ME!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT? MAYBE IF YOU WERENT SUCH A JACKASS, YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME REAL FRIENDS!!!" Hiccup walks off, but he doesn't let me go. He drags me with him, and to the back of the school. This place is probably my favorite spot in the school. Trees are scattered, and then they turn into a thick forest. That was where we found Toothless yesterday. He let me go when we were hidden by trees. I could see pain in his eyes. He looks like he's having an argument within himself. A tear forms, and drips down his cheek. He looks deep into my eyes, and his mouth smashes against mine. He kisses me, and I kiss him back. I put my hand on his cheek and wipe the tear away. We kiss for a few minutes, and he pulls away. I know that my cheeks are flustered red and covered in tears from Hiccups eyes. My hand cups his neck, and he leans his forehead against mine. I looked up into his green eyes...

"I'm sorry Elsa." Just like that, he walked away and left me.
