He stumbled through his apartment drunk, calling out her name wanting her to respond.

But she isn't here anymore.

He walked around the condo with a bottle of alcohol in his hand, looking for any signs of life, but there were none. No signs that anyone lived here except him.

The reasons he got drunk and the things he wanted to forget came rushing back, making uncontrollable tears escape his eyes.

The bottle slipped through his fingers and broke as he fell to his knees, trying to control his breathing

"Just breathe, ok?"

"I-I can't! Everything's too much!" he sobbed

"Shawn look at me," He looked up at her, and into her eyes

"Focus on my voice, and I'm gonna count to ten, count with me?" She asked making him nod

"One," They counted together

"Two," His breathing started slowing down a bit by 5 and by the time they hit 10 he was alright again

But she wasn't here to help him, nothing was going to be alright.

He placed a hand on his heart, and started counting and focused on his breathing, tears still not stopping

"One," He choked

"Two," He kept counting, imagined her hand on his chest instead of his and his breathing slowed down

With shaky hands he picked up his phone and dialed her number, knowing very well she wasn't gonna pick up

"Hey! You reached Y/N! Leave a message after the beep!" Beep.

"WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE ME?! WHY?!" Was the first thing he got out, crying uncontrollably after the word left his lips

"Why did you have to go?! I needed you- I need you! I still do! I love you," He sobbed

A few minutes into yelling at her and crying, the voicemail ended making him toss his phone aside

"Of all people, why did it have to be you?" He cried to himself

"Of all the people in this whole damn universe, why did you have to be the one to break my heart?"

He wanted to have his heart broken, he knew that it would hurt. He just never thought it through when he met her, he never knew that the consequences of wanting to write the songs he dreamed of writing would be one of the worst cases of a broken heart, and losing her.

He tried to at least write some songs, but his heart was yearning for her, the only word on his mind was her name.

He tried getting her back, he stopped by her apartment, he sent flowers, tried to talk to her at work, but she just wouldn't let him see her. She felt betrayed, and stupid.

How could she not see the signs? The new songs? One of them about a rebound? Was she that rebound? Was he just trying to get close to her so when either of them leaves he'd have an idea of what heartbreak feels like? She didn't know, but she felt used.

She cried so hard that night, she erased him from her mind, she deleted him from all her social media accounts. She threatened that if he came near her again she'd file a restraining order against him.

One night he slept on her porch, drunk. He refused to leave that night without talking to her, so she had to call Geoff to pick him up.

She was trying to forget him but he was making it so difficult.

He tried everything to get to her, but she was making it so difficult.

So one question they both have in common is:
